Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together to celebrate and to make a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god.
They sang, "Our god has given us victory over our enemy Samson!" And when the people saw him, they sang praises unto their idol, saying, Our god hath given us victory over our enemies, who hath destroyed our nation, and hath slain many of our people.
And they were glad, and said, Send for Samson, that we may make him sport.
They took Samson out of prison and made fun of him and made him stand between two large pillars.
Samson said to the boy who led him,
"Hold me to the pillar of the house, for I want to lean on it."
The house was crowded with men and women. There were also the lords of the Philistines and about 3,000 men and women on the roof watching and mocking Samson.
Then Samson prayed, "Lord God, remember me. Give me strength even now so that I can take revenge on the Philistines who have cut off my two eyes. "
Then Samson took hold of the two pillars of the house where they were assembled, and leaned on them and shouted,
"Let me die with the Philistines!" He pushed it with all his might and the house collapsed to the leaders and all the people.
He killed more people when he died than when he lived. Then his brothers and all his family came to fetch his body.
They buried him in the tomb of his father Manoah between Zorah and Eshtaol. Samson will judge Israel for 20 years.
