Chapter 11 - Victory

When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he knelt down and worshiped God.

Then he returned to the camp of Israel and said, "Get up! The Lord will hand over the army of Midian to us! "

He divided his 300 men into three companies and gave each one a horn and a pitcher with a torch.

And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise, when I come nigh unto the camp. When we blow our horns, blow the trumpets around the camp and shout,

'For the Lord and for Gideon!' "

Gideon and his 100 men came to the camp just before midnight after the guard had changed. Then they blew the trumpets and broke the jars they were carrying.

The three groups blew their horns and broke their jars.

In their left hand they held the torches and in their right the trumpets and shouted,

"Sword to the Lord and to Gideon!"

Every man stood in his place around the camp, and all the army of the enemy ran and shouted.

While 300 men blew the trumpets, the Lord caused the Midianites to strike again. They ran to Zererah as far as Beth-shittah to the town of Abel-meholah, near Tabbath.

Then they called the people of Naphtali, Asher, and Manasseh, and pursued the Midianites.

And Gideon sent men into the hill country of Ephraim, and said unto them, Come up hither, and fight with the Midianites.

Guard the Jordan River and the Beth Barah rivers, so that the Midianites do not cross over. " So the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and guarded the Jordan River and the brooks of Beth -barah.

They captured the two Midianite leaders, Oreb and Zeb. They killed Oreb at the Rock of Oreb and Zeb they killed at Zeb's winepress. They chased the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeb to Gideon on the east side of the Jordan.
