The voice seemed to come from above. It was fleeting, but it did not escape Quan Jue's ears.
"What's that sound?" A cold glint flashed across Quan Jue's eyes as he asked warily.
When the others heard this question, they were all puzzled.
"What sound?" Huo Chen asked in confusion.
"I'm sorry, Young Master Quan. I didn't hear anything, either," Pei Yao said apologetically.
Only Beitang Lie was excited. He asked, "Young Master Quan, what did you hear?"
Quan Jue tried to identify the sound, but he could no longer hear it. It was as if he had hallucinated it.
Quan Jue looked up but did not find anything amiss. He had no choice but to give up. "It's alright. Maybe I was overly vigilant."
Since Quan Jue said so, everyone believed him and continued to stare at Chi Jiao.
