Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

When Lou Ya locked eyes with Su Junxin, her face instantly turned pale.

She looked frantically at the man standing next to her.

"Master Wu, she avoided the black dog blood. What should we do now?"

The man referred to as Master Wu was about forty years old, tall and thin, wearing a well-fitted black suit, exuding an aura of ascetic cultivation.

When he first saw Su Junxin, he was somewhat taken aback, but after hearing Lou Ya's frightened exclamation, he quickly regained his composure. Stroking his beard, he said meaningfully, "Don't panic, I have my own ways."

While they were talking, Su Junxin had already skirted the puddle of dog blood in the front yard and entered the mansion.

She stood there, tilting her head slightly, and glanced at the two of them, before asking with a subtle smile, "Mom, who's this uncle? Is he your new lover?"

Having lived in the basement, the original owner had witnessed Lou Ya returning home with different men late at night on several occasions, and even inadvertently heard from neighbors that she was keeping a gigolo with the inheritance from her father.

Knowing that Lou Ya loved to put on airs in front of others, she provoked Lou Ya with her remark.

As expected, Lou Ya's face flushed with anger. She clenched her teeth and angrily shouted, "Master Wu, look at her babbling nonsense. She must be possessed by demons again!"

A soothsayer? Possessed by demons?

Connecting it with the black dog blood that had almost splashed onto her earlier, Su Junxin quickly grasped the situation.

So, Lou Ya thought she was possessed by spirits and had invited a Taoist priest to exorcise her!

She stood in place, arms crossed, full of interest. She shifted her eyes to Master Wu and saw him stepping down the stairs, stopping about two meters from her, and narrowing his eyes to snort.

"Evil spirit, reveal your true form!"

Even before his words faded, he took out a talisman written in cinnabar from his coat pocket and held it between his right-hand fingers.

A whistling sound heralded its flight through the air.

Like a yellow ray of light, the talisman accurately shot towards Su Junxin.

This talisman seemed to be made of some special material, as it firmly stuck to her clothes upon contact.

She showed no signs of panic, in fact, watching this scene unfold with amusement.

Upon seeing this, Master Wu closed his eyes and began chanting a spell, then suddenly opened them, laughing triumphantly, "Hmph, this Evil Exorcising Talisman was cultivated by me for forty-nine days and nights using my blood essence. You insignificant demon, today you'll be a soul under my sword!"

However, seconds passed and Su Junxin remained standing calmly in place, silently challenging him.

The change in Master Wu's complexion was evident. He quickly recited another spell, but seeing no reaction from her, he was struck with disbelief.

Shaking his head, he stepped back, murmuring in disbelief, "How is this possible?! How can the talisman not work... impossible... this is impossible..."

Su Junxin languidly removed the talisman from her clothes and examined it.

Seeing Master Wu anxiously watching her, she tore the talisman in half right in front of him.

"Stop! My talisman!" Master Wu spat out a mouthful of dark blood, clutching his chest in pain and collapsing to the floor.

This scene seemed familiar to Su Junxin, just like how backlash is depicted in television dramas.

"Huh, I thought you were just a scam artist, but you actually have some real skill," she commented.

Effortlessly laughing, she approached Master Wu and threw the two halves of the talisman into his lap, looking down on him, her voice growing cold, "Sadly, you're using your talents for the wrong cause. Be careful, one day your misdeeds will return to haunt you. Since I'm in a good mood, get out."

Having said that, without waiting for his response, she headed straight upstairs and kicked open Lou Ya's bedroom door.

When Lou Ya saw that Master Wu's talisman did not work, she knew she was in trouble. She was about to escape through the window when Su Junxin found her so quickly. Startled, she screamed, and quickly scuttled under the bed to hide, shivering and praying she wouldn't be found.

After entering the room, Su Junxin quickly spotted her hiding place and stopped at the foot of the bed.

"Will you come out yourself, or should I pull you out?"

After waiting a few seconds without a response, she lowered her gaze and shook her head with a resigned sigh, squatting down and gripping the legs of the bed, taking a deep breath—

A loud crash resounded as the nearly two-meter-wide solid wood bed was effortlessly flipped onto its side.

Unable to control herself, Lou Ya screamed, sitting against the wall, repeating, "Don't come near me! Devil, don't come near me!"

Su Junxin stretched out her arms and then walked over to crouch in front of Lou Ya.

A hand reached out, clamping her chin, forcing her to lift her head and meet his gaze.

"Lou Ya, where's your daughter?"

Upon hearing his words, Lou Ya froze, her eyes turning a mad shade of red in an instant. Suddenly, she pulled out a dagger she had hidden in her chest and lunged towards Su Junxin while yelling.

"Don't you dare touch my daughter!"

Su Junxin didn't even blink an eye at the dagger. His left hand moved at a speed barely visible to the naked eye to block her attack. Simultaneously, he twisted her hand to knock the tip of the dagger off course.

The sharp point of the dagger landed dangerously close to Lou Ya's right eye, less than one centimeter away.

"I'll ask again, where's your daughter?" he repeated emotionlessly.

Lou Ya, her eyes fixated on the tip of the dagger, barely dared to breathe as she stuttered an answer, "She, she's been taken to the Meng Family...I beg you, please don't harm her! You can kill me, just don't hurt her!"

For a moment, Su Junxin couldn't remember his relationship with the Meng Family, but that didn't stop him from continuing to threaten Lou Ya. He responded immediately with a wide smile.

His words, however, sent chills down her spine.

"I warned you last night. You can't afford the consequences of angering me, but you insisted on heading towards the dead end..."

"I was wrong, I really was," Lou Ya, confronted with the threat of death, was on the verge of breaking down, "Junxin, please, for the sake of the sisterhood between you and Su Yi over the years, please spare her! As long as you do, I will serve you with all my life!"

Su Junxin finally let go of her chin, pulling a check from his pocket and waving it in front of her.

"No need to be so dramatic. But as for this, do you have any explanation?"

After registering what he was holding, Lou Ya's face turned ashen.

She swallowed nervously before speaking with difficulty.

"It's... a forgery."

At her words, Su Junxin's temple throbbed, the room's chandelier flickering in sync.

"And the property deed?"

"That's also a forgery... The real one is in my safe. The code is Yi Yi's birthday."

Su Junxin took a deep breath, trying to suppress his rising temper.

"Just how much did my father leave me?"

Seeing Lou Ya's evasive gaze, he narrowed his eyes, pressing the dagger a couple millimeters closer.

"Speak!"

Rivers of sweat mingling with tears coursed down Lou Ya's face, rushing to answer, "Indeed, there was over two million, but I used it to help my family settle some trouble last year. Now there's only a million left..."

Su Junxin broke into bitter laughter.

"Lou Ya, you've hit rock bottom, stealing an inheritor's fortune to help your own family."

He tapped his fingers against his temple, snatching the dagger away.

His eyes flickered open, a murderous intensity brewing within.

"I've changed my mind. Tell me where the Meng family lives."

Startled at his words, Lou Ya quickly grabbed his sleeve, "It has nothing to do with Yi Yi, I did all this alone! I'll give you the money back, all of it back!"

Su Junxin stood up, towering over her.

After a moment, he shrugged her off.

"Fine, I'll give you a month. If a cent is missing, you can forget about ever seeing your daughter."

Watching Su Junxin walk away, Lou Ya collapsed on the ground as if released from heavy chains.

However, in the next second, the ceiling lamp crashed down, shards of crystal immediately leaving several crimson wounds on her face.

Su Junxin's voice echoed chillingly from outside the door.

"If a fourth person learns of what happened tonight, I won't hesitate to send you and your daughter straight to hell."

Lou Ya sat stunned on the floor, her whole body shivering.
