There was no other way.
It was the only way to make everyone speechless.
Lin Weilong scratched his head. "Then, let them fight it out. Which photographer in the agency can shoot better than me? What am I afraid of?"
Editor-in-Chief Zhao said, "Su Xingqi and Qin Mu are bound to win. They don't plan to use the photographers from our agency, but they will hire famous photographers to shoot the photos. Hua Die got anxious when they heard the news. They said that even though the commercial photos you took previously were not bad, they were too standard and were not much different from ordinary hard photos. They need something more creative and eye-catching. If they can crush the Qin Family Enterprise in one shot, they will be convinced of their defeat."
Lin Weilong finally understood why he had to reshoot.
"Alright, let's reshoot then." He agreed to it and brought Su Xingyu out of the editor-in-chief's office.
The next issue was not about the technical level but creativity.
A good idea was vital. Scenes, blueprints, colors… They had to hit the hearts of people with one look.
Su Xingyu asked Lin Weilong, "How do you plan to do it?"
Lin Weilong rolled his eyes. "How would I know?" He did not ask Jiang Zhenzhen to meet him first—you have to pay a sum of money for their time. Instead, he would lock Su Xingyu in the studio and use her as an experiment for various poses first.
Su Xingyu cooperated dutifully. Her sense of lens was not bad, and although the pose she took was not as professional as that of a model, it was still decent. Lin Weilong tried again and again and exclaimed, "If you were taller, you could really become a model."
Su Xingyu "That's not what I'm after."
Lin Weilong: "Don't you girls like shiny things? The runway is the dream of many."
Su Xingyu chuckled. "That doesn't include me." Her dream had never been to stand on a runway, nor to stand under the spotlight with exquisite makeup and beautiful clothes. Ever since she was young, she only had one dream—to become an outstanding photographer like her mother. She liked the soft click of the shutter when she pressed the shutter. It was as if it contained all the words in the world.
Lin Weilong had been tormenting her for a few days, and he was not satisfied with the composition.
He became more irritable. "There are only a few creative ideas for the clothing brand of young girls. How can I think of a new one at the last minute?"
On the other hand, Su Xingyu was open-minded. "Even if we can't think of it, Su Xingqi might not be able to think of it either." This time, Su Xingqi was helping the Qin Family Enterprise to shoot bag advertisements. The Qin Family Enterprise's luggage brand was neither big nor small and could be considered second-tier luxury goods. There were only a few types of advertisement styles.
Lin Weilong snorted coldly. "I don't care what kind of photos they take, but Hua Die said that they wanted the advertisement to make people's eyes light up. Satisfying the party whose forking out money is always the first priority of a photographer, understand?"
Su Xingyu: "…Isn't the top priority of a photographer to shoot good works?"
Lin Weilong laughed sinisterly. "Good works? Good works are works that can make the investor pay big money."
Su Xingyu did not want to continue arguing with him on this issue. She cooperated with him and continued to look for creative concepts. After repeated repetitions, her progress was stagnant. Editor-in-Chief Zhao urged them three times a day, and all of these made her extremely frustrated.
Her work was not smooth-sailing, and she was depressed at home.
It was a weekend, and Lu Shifeng and her were both at home. The two of them were drinking tea in the garden on the terrace.
The afternoon sun shone on them like bits of gold.
Lu Shifeng held the teacup elegantly and asked her, "You don't seem very happy recently?"
She was slightly taken aback. She did not expect him even to notice these details, so she said, "It's not going well at work."
"Do you need my help?" he asked.
Help?
How could he help?
For some reason, Su Xingyu suddenly recalled that Hua Die had changed Su Xingqi away at the last minute. Was Lu Shifeng behind this? Would he lend a helping hand when she was in a difficult position?
"Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?" Lu Shifeng's magnetic voice sounded.
Su Xingyu came back to her senses and forced a smile. "Nothing."
She was at a loss for words. What if he was not the one behind Su Xingqi's incident? That would be too embarrassing. She changed the topic. "Do you have a way to help me?"
He raised his eyebrows slightly. "I don't have a way?"
…Okay, she shouldn't have asked this question. This person in front of her was rich and powerful. What couldn't he do? But she wasn't willing to let him solve everything. If that was the case, then there was no point in working so hard to find a job that was independent of him.
However, Lu Shifeng did not let her go. "What is it?"
She said, "It's just a small problem. I don't need your help."
He was displeased. "You are my wife. You should accept my protection."
This man's chauvinism was hopeless.
Su Xingyu carefully peered at his face. Seeing that a storm was brewing, she did not dare to provoke him anymore.
However, she really didn't want him to help her! She thought for a while and could only say, "Then, can you tell me how you usually handle your troubles at work? Let me learn how you handle them."
It was better than having him solve her problem with money.
Lu Shifeng did not expect her to make such a request.
He seemed to have married a very special wife. She was obviously so weak and could be crushed to death with a simple move of a finger, yet she wanted to settle everything herself. She was so stubborn.
"It must have been hard on you, isn't it?" he asked.
She didn't understand what he meant. "What?"
"I said, it must have been hard on you." He put down the teacup in his hand. The light blue and white porcelain glaze reflected the faint light between his fingers. "I used to have a younger sister who wasn't very favored at home. She was also used to solving everything by herself because no one was willing to help her even if she asked for help. It was only when I came back from studying abroad and started to take care of her and protect her that she slowly learned to rely on me."
When he said this, his voice was very low as he stared at the blue and white teacup in his hand. "But there are some habits that she never changed. During summer break, she would go to work with her classmates. Later on, she died because of this. I've always thought that it's not a good thing for a woman to be too independent. That's because she can't rely on anyone."
She stared at him blankly, her eyes suddenly sore.
In all these years, no one had ever said such words to her. Even if she worked so hard to live, the people around her would only think that she was inferior to her younger sister in everything. They would think that if the Su family could give her a meal, what was there to be unsatisfied about?
He was the only one who saw the hardships behind her.
She lowered her head and moved her lips. She wanted to tell him it wasn't hard, but she couldn't bring herself to.
A hint of warmth spread across her cheeks as he reached out to stroke her hair. His voice traveled slowly, "Xingyu, you're married now. You're no longer the pampered Eldest Miss of the Su family. You can learn to rely on me."
