The two words left a room full of people utterly speechless. They all looked at me with wide eyes, and they tried to anticipate what I might do next. Some of them were already talking to their bodyguards. As if that would help them. I spoke in a small but powerful voice, "If I were you, I wouldn't do anything rash."
"How will you kill all of us?!" A voice was brave enough to lash out.
"Yeah, even if you do manage to kill all of us, you will be found!" It seems that the little bugs were getting defiant. It was time to put them in their place.
I stared down the crowd and delineated their situation, "Listen carefully, I will only say all of this once." The entire assembly held its breath. "Thanks to our dear Edward Fideltor, the treasurer of the RG group, I know for a fact that there are no public, government, nor private properties in a forty-seven-mile radius. Thanks to him, I don't even need to improvise a hasty escape anytime soon. So again, I advise you not to be rash. If you wind up dead, then not a single soul except me will ever know." Everyone's wide eyes slowly moved towards Edward. He was sweating profusely.
Edward ran until he was next to me, "Grey, what the hell are you doing!" His whisper turned into more of a hoarse scream.
I turned towards him and kicked him to the ground, "SILENCE!" With that, everyone snapped into realization. I continued, not acknowledging Edward's grovel at my feet, "As for the second part, the purging," my lips reshaped into a hideous grin, "The pills you all took so eagerly do not contain the evolution drug. You think I would waste it on the likes of people like you!" Everyone's eyes became even wider; they had understood something that they should have long ago. "In those capsules, I have meticulous designed, there lay not my precious drug but the infamous potassium cyanide, KCN!" I kept talking, "Potassium cyanide releases a gas inside your body that suffocates your cells and steals oxygen from them. In simple terms: it is fatal when it reaches your heart or brain. But, when normally ingested, it takes days or a couple of hours for a person to die because the drug in small quantities takes time to move to those organs, but behold my surprise! The capsule that you have swallowed, my naive little friends, makes sure that the drug- even in minuscule quantities- will be served upon a silver platter to your heart or brain or both." I took a breath and stayed silent for a hot minute to let all of that sink in. "Now, if you look at my hand here," I wave my left hand, "you will see that there is a small black remote. I programmed this remote so that I would be able to control the KCN in your body. If anyone of you shoots me, hurt me, or come near me- even if I am incapacitated- this little device will be set off, turning all of you into a corpse." I looked around the room and see some people slowly approaching me. I smirked, "If you were the few lucky ones who did not ingest the pill at the given time, then I applaud you for not falling for my trick." They were still approaching. "You might think that this is the right opportunity for you to attack me since you basically have full immunity to my scheme. But, that is where you are wrong." The footsteps ceased, and the people suddenly halted. "Did you forget that if I am incapacitated, my device here will release the drug inside all the six thousand people here? Did you think that the six thousand others would allow you to kill me for their lives?" The people surrounding the men who were approaching suddenly jerked their heads at them. The hostile men calmed down; they knew if they attacked they would be the only ones killed. "Now, I am a VERY generous man as I am giving all of you the opportunity to walk out of here alive. All you need to do is sign my name off to eighty-five percent, which is a small price to pay for your own lives, isn't it?" I could see the men and women in the first couple of rows reluctantly picking up their pens, which were designed to work on the holographic screens. I walked over to one of the women and delicately traced her oval face with my index finger. At the same time, I spoke softly to her but loud enough that everyone would hear, "And don't even think about pretending to write my name," she shivered when my index finger reached the middle of her chin, "Your families might pay the price for it." I heard the women teeth chatter as if there were cold air in the room. There was in fact not.
Around ten minutes later, everyone's wills that were in front of them had disappeared. A small sound emerged from the center row, "So, will you let us go now?" A middle-aged woman, maybe around five-foot ten, stood up. She had long, narrow eyes, perfectly shaped eyebrows, and a sharp nose. She was wearing what seemed to be a traditional Japanese dress.
"Maybe," I answered back. Many of the individuals did not seem to understand that they were at my mercy, or the mercy of each other. A youth, golden hair and a fit physique, rushed up towards me in a last act of defiance. I almost pushed the button, but I didn't even have to. The column of people that were sitting near the line of the youth grabbed him by the collar and chocked him on the ground. Good. They knew the rules. I kept staring at the golden haired boy until his eyes faded out of consciousness. Twenty-six billion. That was eighty-five percent of his assets. Now 'rightfully' mine.
I looked at the bodyguards next to many of the 'clients'; this could be a problem. "I notice there are many guards here," they all reached for their hips, "You won't find anything there. I assure you. Did you forget that you had to turn them in?" The guards froze. Even though they were wearing heavily tinted shades, I could see the fear in their eyes. "I will give you each one pill. This one is a green one, and it will enhance your hearing, or it might kill you." I hand over a bottle of pills to the nearest person and tell him to pass it along. When all the guards had the pill in their hands, I spoke again, "I know you're hesitant, and you rightfully should be, but I have the power to make your patrons die. Would they want that?" I urged the masters to control their dogs. The guards reluctantly took their pills. After a few short minutes, many of them began to smile.
"How cool was that, right?" I put my hands in the air, "Now you can hear things from a quarter of a mile away!" They all shrugged off their discomfort and acknowledged the benefits. "Now, I will give you two choices. You may either work under me or for me, which ever way you see it. Or, you may receive a very painless death. I trust you will choose the right decision as valiant efforts bear no fruits here." Everyone was in complete silence. I heard a small whispering coming out of a guards mouth. As I leaned into hear, BANG! A gunshot ripped through the air and splattered the whispering guards blood on the celebrity section of the auditorium.
I followed the sound back to the owner only to spot an old man- probably in his fifties- tucking the gun back in its holster. He had gray hair, and wrinkled skin, just like any old man would. His eyes were the color of the ocean; his iris displayed an image that made it look like the tides. He had a short but built stature, and he was leaning mostly on his right foot. He wore a simple black, leather jacket and blue jeans. As I eyed him, he also looked back. "They forgot to check me for a concealed weapon," he smiled, "I'm in."
