Not all of the Dialorians had left for the base. Countless creatures still swarmed the control center. Relda and Raylay squatted low. The others crouched behind them.
"Group 2, prepare to enter the base," a recording of a female commanded.
"Go," Raylay instructed. "Stay with the crowd."
Group 2 chattered. Their conversations blended together, and their smells. Some were pleasant aromas derived from blooming planets. Others were breathtaking musty smells. Relda held her breath in her cheeks and with her hand she fanned her nose.
With one final step, they became one with Group 2. Dual control center doors unsealed, and the march advanced.
This battalion kept Relda's agility in check. Their stride and physiques suggested adolescents, or in the younger adult age group. She choked while her daughters moved in stride with the Dialorians.
"Stay with me," Maurian whispered. "It's eyescan activated."
Beyond the ship, the Dialorians lined single file. A green light scanned their eyes and triggered the entrance. The line progressed. It decreased, and two remained in front of the quintuplets, the younger quintuplets, Klea, and the children. An eye scan allowed one to pass, and the next Dialorian stepped into the scanner.
One second, Daly grabbed her blaster with both hands and raised it above her head. The next instant, she hammered into the Dialorian's skull. When the entrance cleared, Daly stood against the door mechanism, and her sisters, son, nephew, and nieces passed by.
"Alright," Maurian said. "Let's get going."
