Fin was an extremely pale and scrawny teenager with pitch black hair, and brown eyes. He's just average. In all ways just average.
His family situation is below average as he lives in a rundown small house. even the slightest breeze could blow it down, and he lives in the slums. his mom works on the streets as a prostitute because her background stops her from getting any other job. fin barely sees any of his mother, and his dad isn't all that different. he's in prison with no parole for mass murder, and as such has been all but vacant from fins life.
he isn't the smartest person because he works from sunup to sundown. his families financial situation means he needs to or he doesn't have a house. so he can't go to school. he works in a dead end retail job making minimum wage. he is treated like shit by his employer and his customers thanks to his below average intelligence. He has permanent black bags under his eyes thanks to crying himself to sleep every night.
fin has one and one single thought that motivates him to get up. the thought that today Is the day he kills himself. today was no different. he slumped out of bed in black and dirty clothes with greasy hair because he hadn't showered yet. he walked slowly out of his house and started to make his way to his job.
in a timely bit lackluster manner he made it to the train station which he takes to get to work everyday. he walked onto the platform with a train roaring on the tracks. he had a thought. he jumped.
*splat*
screams could be heard all over platform 9. He was dead. then and there. dead.
fin opened his eyes, he was sitting at a large circular table. there were hundreds of other people there with some screaming, some talking, and some just dead silent. fin was in the latter category. he was silent, for to live in his world he had to be apathetic. no real wants, no real desires. nothing on the inside was human anymore. he looked around numbly closed his eyes, and slept.
more and more people showed up at the large table as time went on. in a time that no one could agree on all seats had a person in it. a voice sounded from above. it was booming. it demanded respect, and resonated wisdom.
"you all have a year before the breaches begin. you have a year to prepare for it. you are the Earth's heros. never forget that."
fin woke up. he was in his bed then raised his head. he looked around, shrugged his shoulders. went back to sleep. all around the world people woke up and had many different reactions. some people felt different and trained to learn what was different. some people instinctually new how to use the power of a hero. some didn't believe what had happened was real, but then there powers presented themselves. there were hundreds of heros. and everyone reacted to what had happened in there own way.
but not fin
fin just kept going to work, going home, crying himself to sleep, and waking up. rinse repeat. a year passed by for fin in a flash because he did the same thing every day. he didn't even realize that it had been a year and that today was the day that marked exactly a year after the hero's were picked.
the sky was red, purple, and black clouds were swirling around like a vortex, and the ground shook vigorously. cities were flooded, and things came pouring out of the vortex in the sky.
fin felt the ground shake and the vortex in the sky. he didn't stop to ask questions for he didn't care. he just walked to his platform number, and waited for his train.
*BOOM*
something crashed out of the sky leaving a crater in the ground. it slowly crawled out of the hole. it was dog like, with horns, and yellow eyes. with spines on it's back, scaly legs, and a tail covered in spikes. it was the size of a bull, with rage to match
it ran rampant on platform 9 slaughtering 8 people before noticing fin, who was just sitting there unbothered by the chaos around him. the beast charged towards him, while in the background footsteps could be heard. a man in red scaly armor walked onto the platform. he gently raised his hand towards the beast and with a gentle but booming voice said
then a roar could be heard, and flames came pouring out of his hand.
there was nothing left of the beast other than ashes a smoldering pile. then the man shouted at the top of his lungs
"The dragon hero is here to protect you!"
like telling the world his name.
