Much like any other land with it's fair share of countries or history. The continent of Sprigladel has been through a lot. There has been devastating wars, prosperity, despair, peace, legends, secrets, the undiscovered, and the well-known. Some would call Sprigladel's history a vicious, inevitable cycle. Admittedly, it would seem so.
Dying myths and prophecies told of a time when change would come about. Many gave up on believing it'd happen in their life time. You or I would truthfully believe the same because there hasn't been a glimmer of hope for much needed change, in centuries, or even millennium.
This time there was clearly something very odd and most definitely frightening about the current cycle of Sprigladel. Maybe the cycle has been stuck or broken, but exactly when or how is anybody's guess. You see, usually the cycle goes from a prosperous peaceful country, to a war torn one, then onto the verge of a dying one as a result of the wars.
Eventually it slowly gets rebuilt , and thus the cycle starts anew. It has happened for generations upon generations. Except for what has now been well over 200 years; the land of Sprigladel has yet to recover. It has been on the verge of deepening chaos. Soon every inhabitant's worst fear may become true.
Sprigladel has many beings who consider this land home albeit: spirits, humans, monsters, demons, animals, variety of fae, dragons and more, inhabit the land. The fact that all these mythical beings exist amongst us has allowed for the prophecies, myths and legends to survive even if just barely; because the existence of such things, and the possibility that they could or did happen, cannot be denied.
Are these dark times a result of dark forces from demon tribes that have gained more power over territories and have created havoc? The unfathomable dragons who take claim to mountains, forests, deserts, and oceans, unleashing merciless wrath on those who defy them or come close? Monsters residing in every corner waiting to gruesomely take their next victims? Fae-kind preying upon the desires of the weak? Humans trying to satisfy their insatiable desire to conquer and enslave?
There's only one way to find out. This is a tale of two beings that will determine Sprigladel's fate, for better or for worse.
First, we must understand the order of things in this world. In this world many are born with magic that resides within, and can be found in any creature or person
When a being becomes of age between adolescent or reaching adulthood; said being's magic takes new form. Depending on the being or other factors like blood line, parent attributes, personality, can affect the type of magic that awakens inside a being and how it grows.
Equally for every being, a force from beyond summons a unique grimoire that comes from the being's soul when the magic is unlocked.
These books made from the ethereal souls of one's self that are locked within their soul since birth, are brimming with magic and potential that can only be discovered, cultivated, and brought forth by the user themselves.
All characteristics of their magic are unique to the user but can share a common base attribute with other beings. For example: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, Darkness, etc. to name a few attributes.
Other beings cannot use another being's grimoire. However, there has been techniques and rituals that defy these original laws of nature. It is known that they exist, but they are forbidden because of the evil, chaos, and sacrifice they require is far too great.
Perhaps these dark times are being caused by something like this. There is much more to this world, but I'm sure you can decipher them from here.
Let us see how this journey plays out. This is a tale of two beings named Ta'ro and Sil. Heroes? Villains? I'm sure we shall see...
