Chapter 1 - Prologue - The tale of two fools

The year 1521, Sengoku period. Jinbo Nagamoto ascended as the head of the Jinbo clan after his father, Yoshimune, committed seppuku after losing a battle against the coalition army of both, Hatakeyama Hisonobu, and Nagao Tamekage. With the loss of his father, and their army defeated, the Jinbo clan fell from power and became a minor clan in the province of Etchu. A week after his succession, the depressed Nagamoto rode his horse around the plains surrounding his castle, and a man dressed in unusual clothing approached him.

The man called in a rude manner. "Hey, you! Where is this place?"

"How impudent of you to call your lord so rudely. State your name, peasant!" Offended, Nagamoto shouted, his hand was placed on the handle of his blade, ready to slash at the man.

Undeterred by him, the man answered. "I'm Masamoto Fuji, an office worker, you weird cosplayer." At normal times, if someone were to be rude to him, Nagamoto would have slashed him in a fit of anger, and yet, for some reason, at the sight of a brave, foolish rude man, Nagamoto laughed aloud. The man, Masamoto Fuji sneered. "This crazy bastard…"

"Masamoto Fuji... a good name! I shall spare you for making me laugh, what skills do you perhaps have?" His voice held a touch of interest, Masamoto Fuji spoke words unknown to him, and a feeling sprouted, he wanted Fuji to serve him.

Annoyed by how the man in a hakama spoke like a Sengoku nobleman. This little shit's acting so pretentious during the 21st century, he thought angrily. Masamoto roared, taking Nagamoto by surprise. "You pretentious little shit, I'll show you my skills!" He lunged forward and pulled the man from his horse, and while the man was disoriented, he punched Nagamoto in his face. "Spare me? You better beg me now or I'll keep on punching until you're knocked cold."

After successfully blocking some punch with his arms, Nagamoto was able to push Fuji away, giving him time to breathe and recover. He tried reaching out for his katana on his waist but found it missing, there he saw Fuji examining the blade in his hands, amazed. "Ouch!" Fuji screamed, blood seeped out from the wound due to his carelessness. The blade was sharp, enough to cut him at the moment of contact with his skin. "What the hell, this katana's real," He exclaimed.

"Fool!" His shoulder shook from laughter, his killing intent vanished, and he approached the man whose strength was unmatched. "Serve me, and I shall give you riches and honor," He offered.

That day, Masamoto Fuji followed Jinbo Nagamoto back to Masuyama castle and became a retainer of the Jinbo clan. Along with his appearance, the future will change, and the Masamoto clan shall be known throughout Japan.
