At the time, Ito Ren did not ask the reason for Hasami Mari's panic. He just accompanied her silently to the basement parking lot, and after following her to her car - a small white city car - he got behind the wheel and waited for the woman to get in beside him.
This must have confused her a bit, because she had hesitated before sitting inside the car; and Ren wondered if she had ever let anyone but herself drive her car before today. Unless, of course, it was her reaction to a co-worker she barely knew; and who had decided to bring her along without asking for too many details.
However, if Ren wanted to know where to go, he had to ask his colleague their destination, and after starting the vehicle, said:
