Alan told the park that their Alpha bravely went to the mountain god's territory to plead with him to release the body of his mate but the god attacked him and took his life as well.
when ben heart stopped beating every member of moon park felt it the disconnection from their Alpha was heartbreaking, so Alan told them a white lie so they didn't see ben as a selfish Alpha who went on a suicide mission.
a huge ceremony was conducted by the park, in honor of their fallen Alpha, all the teenagers that haven't shifted were put on pup sitting duty to enable mothers to attend the ceremony except Brian of course who was the son of the late alpha .all available werewolves shifted to their wolf form and ran to the mighty kupa tree that was at the center of the forest territory of moon park,kupa tree is the ancestral tree of the park it has been there for many many centuries legend has it that the tree was touched by the goddess herself. the tree was a very tall and large umbrella tree it had vines covering someplace, its leaves are bright green but when the moon shines on it it looks blueish with fireflies perching on its tips, it's rooted thought berried underground can be traced back to the park house. on this night the shaman thought in his wolf form offers prayers to the goddess to accept the fallen Alpha and to not let evil before the park.
The shaman's house was built close to the kupa tree because of the shrine under the tree.in this same night, the shaman would have to officially welcome the new/intern Alpha under the wings of the ancestral tree because after he offers the prayers all the park members will howl with all their strength venting out their anger, pain, in depth depression on the loss of their Alpha and luna in the same month.
howling to the moon to guide their Alpha's partway to the goddess, the only downside was that once other Park might hear them thus the realization that the Alpha has passed away and the need to attack the park in its vulnerable state to attain the territory and moon park territory is far most one of the most perfect territory. Even though the park still has many Wolves guiding the territory borders the need to connect the new Alpha with the park is necessary to defend and fight against any Alpha that dares to challenge him on his tuff.
Alan will become Alpha on this night because he is was the late Alpha's beta and the only one that can fight the late Alpha to a standstill.
After the shaman finished the prayers, all the werewolves under the great tree looked up to the roof of the tree that was now shining brightly and howled pain, the scene was very touching some of them started shedding tears others wanted...no needed blood to flow and some wailed painfully as if a part of them has been lost, some cursed the mountain god, some wanted revenge...all these emotions were flowing out of them like water. Alan let out a pain-filled howl before breaking into a run to the forest, all the park followed closely behind and didn't stop howling, some started hunting everything that came across their with no restraint.
Meanwhile, Brian didn't move an inch from the spot he stood under the tree...he just stood there staring at the roof of the tree not talking, not crying nor wailing he just had this emotionless expression on his face, an expression that became a part of him, he has lost both parents...
He turned around and walked away from the tree back to the park house. that night Alan was made Alpha luckily for the park surprisingly no other park knew about the death of the Alpha, they only found out when some came to form alliances with moon park by then it was already too late for anything, Alan proofed himself a competent leader.
Days turn to weeks and weeks turned to months all these while the change in Brian's behavior became obvious no one could do anything about he became a shadow of himself.
Alan trained him personally because he was unbeaten among his peers his son took advantage of the fact that they were related to the only person that had combated all the youth in the park without blinking an eyelid it was obvious he was an Alpha male most alphas by now would have forced him to swear a loyalty oat to be them but Alan wasn't like that he wanted his brother's son to be Alpha he was not interested in the position although he had all it takes to lead the park he waited patiently to hand it over.
Desmond Brian's best friend knew his friend was a broken jar that would need a lot of help, the poor guy couldn't help him his friend refused to cry, wail, or throw tantrums to vent his emotions but he didn't budge rather with time he became an adrenaline junkie like he had a death wish you can call him the stunt man's stunt man, he was Dearing, brave, fearless and courageous. Over overtime, they fought many battles to defend the park but Brian chose to be at the war front thus he became very popular and he also became the youngest beta. Alan was without a beta for a long time but when Brian clocked seventeen, Alan made him his beta, Brian would travel to other parks that had alliances with moon park and fight alongside the warriors of the park when threatening most elders warned Alan that he wouldn't be able to withstand Brian if he challenges him to a manshidano but he wouldn't listen.
On Brian's eighteenth birthday Alan bowed to him acknowledging him as his Superior much to Brian's disdain, his uncle trained him so he was hoping for a good fight or death perhaps...
