Chapter 9 - Intermission Pt.2

The rest of our dinner continued peacefully. I was able to enjoy my reunion with Jax and Luna. We ate all the food on the plates and left nothing but crumbs. Luna and Vlad took the doughnuts that we bought all for themselves, meanwhile, Jax and Tasha finding up the curry and all the peanuts.

All I ate was a few peanuts and the rest of all the cuisine that was placed on the table. You need to tidy up the plates after all.

Right now, we still sat in our places as we ready to leave Luna's house. The girls were now knocked out and from the looks of it, I'm the only sane person in this room. Tasha's head rested on my shoulder, hiccups coming out of her come out of her mouth now and then. Luna was resting her head on her hands on top of the table while Jax patted her back on her side.

Jax's face was now looking like he smoked a ton of drugs. He was smiling wildly at nothing and it made him even creepier.

Imagine him at a small alleyway at midnight... I'd shit my pants and think that he was a criminal or something. Although his head was up in the clouds, he was conversing with me with his usual voice and not gibberish to the point that he sounds like a fucking sloth.

"Do you have any girlfriend now?" He caressed Luna's back, then suddenly his eyes fixated on mine. "I could tell you and Luna has something going on."

I flinched at his words. Surely he's mistaken, right? "W-why would you say that? I'm not open for relationships."

"Is that so?" He started brushing Luna's hair. "Then that's good."

His words were simple but I knew what he really meant.

"How about you?" I gestured my final glass at him then took a sip. "You're the oldest of us three. Surely, you've hooked with someone."

"I haven't dated anybody, and don't call me Shirley." Yep, he's drunk.

"Where are you staying right now? You got a hotel near this place?" I asked him. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and looked at the time. It was nearly 11 pm, and I and my sister are both drunk. We can't commute like this. I then look back to Jax who took a deep sigh.

"I have a hotel in Aveli." He answered. "My mom got me the hotel last night and it's already ready. My stuff has already been sent there when I landed."

"Aveli? That's like, two hours away. How are you getting home?"

"You can sleep here tonight." A gentle voice said. The two of us turned and saw Luna's mom standing by the door. "You surely made a mess tonight, was it fun?"

"Yes it was, and don't call me Shirley." I snorted as I accidentally woke my sister, who slept peacefully on my shoulder.

"Dude! Stop it." I now laughed as Luna's mom giggled at the two of us.

"But Vlad's room is under renovation right now, all of you can sleep in Luna's room. I'll ask Vlad to share a room with me for tonight." Luna's mom assured. The two of us nodded in response.

"We can't possibly stay here, Mrs Sol." I frowned.

"It's alright, you're Luna's friends afternoon all. You can stay here anytime you want, our doors will always be open." She smiled at me. Luna's mom has so much charisma, and it's enough to make every one like her.

I gave up and just decided to stay here for the night. Nothing can go wrong, right? I stared at the golden white walls of the dining room. Everything was looking classical. From the picture frames of their family, and the bright bulbs up in the ceiling. There was a T.V on the wall that we used earlier to listen to some music snd watched some videos. Overall, their dining room is quiet in the style, and it was much nicer than ours.

Vlad walked inside the room and might have already heard everything. He had a towel on his shoulder and his hair was kind of wet. "I'll clean the place up. Bring the girls to the bed and help out here." I and Jax exchanged looks and nodded in agreement.

I started by slowly lifting Tasha's body. I carried her outside the room and slowly walked to the hallway. I waited for Jax to come out as I do not know where Luna's room is.

"Okay, we'll head-on." I hear Jax sluggishly say as he meets my eyes. "Third floor." He shook his head.

I nodded at him as I proceeded on making my way upstairs. I took each step carefully and kept on turning around to Jax. He was so drunk that Luna's body had been battered up due to him accidentally bumping her on the wooden railings of the stairs.

"Mind your step!" I whispered to him as he nodded nonchalantly.

As we reached the third floor, we made our way to Luna's room. Her door had a moon symbol so that's how we knew it was hers. I slowly turn the knobs and lightly kicked the door open. I stood by the side and allowed Jax to go in first.

"Go." I nodded at the room.

"'Kay..." He sighed as he walked into the room, hitting Luna's head on the corner.

"Ow..." Luna whined, rubbing the side of her head without closing her eyes. She was so drunk that the pain couldn't even make her get up and beat the shit out of Jax.

"Oh shit."

"Be careful dumbass!" I kicked his leg as he quickly walked inside the room and placed Luna in her bed.

As I step foot into the room, I carefully scanned Luna's room. And to my surprise, it was decent. Her bed had golden sheets, the same for her pillows and blankets. The floor was shiny and her small table near her bed was properly arranged. Her room could fit in six people or so, sheesh, Luna's room is something I'd die for. There was a small pull-up couch on the bottom of her bed. I pulled it and placed Tasha down.

"Moonlight, moonlight, moonlight..." I heard a muttering chant as I ignore it. My main focus was on observing Luna's room. I can't get over the fact that it was... Clean. I always thought Luna was a happy-go-lucky girl that rarely cleans her room.

Welp, guess I was wrong.

"Muchi muchi muchi..."

"Hey Jax, let's go- what the hell are you doing you jerk?" I pulled Jax away, letting him fall off the bed. He was pinching Luna's cheeks while she was heavily snoring. "Let's go. Vlad is waiting."

I grabbed him by the back of his shirt and dragged him all the way to the stairs. I closed the door and turned off the light before we exited. It took around five minutes before I got Jax downstairs. I should've let him sleep in the room... This fucker is too much to handle.

When we got back to the dining room, I splashed some water on his face and continued to help Vlad. He was almost done with everything so there wasn't really much to do.

I decided to brew a coffee to hone my senses. Jax on the other hand was still heavily drunk sleeping on the floor. Vlad gave me a mop and told me to clean the floor so I got into the business as soon as he handed it to me. I started on the far corner of the room to the other side and I didn't even realize that I was already finished mopping the entire floor.

Once I was done, I took a small sip from my coffee and decided to wash my face in their bathroom.

"Hey, where's your washroom?"

"It's on the third and first floor," Vlad answered, implying that there are two bathrooms.

"Okay... Which one's better?"

"The one below. That's where I do my-"

"Okay, I don't need to know that." I cut him off before he was able to say whatever the devil's work it was.

I headed downstairs and left the two in the dining room. I got to the last step and searched for the bathroom. I searched near their large living room, near the small garage and the small refrigerator but I couldn't find it. I then noticed a small door right below the staircase. I flipped the doorknob and saw the inside of the room. It was the bathroom that I was looking for.

That's actually very clever but... Why would you place it under a staircase?

As I made my way inside, I inspected every corner of the room. From the small sink to the bathtub and the shower room. It was averagely clean. I started washing my face on the sink and took my time to do my business.

~~~
When I got out of the room, only a few lights were remaining. A small brink of light shone from the windows near the staircase, I took a small peek and saw the large full moon. It was a beauty unreachable, I felt like a star, as if the holy moon is the queen of these lands.
But no matter how we look at it, the moon doesn't shine alone.
When I got upstairs, I didn't see Jax or Vlad anymore. I'm guessing they already went upstairs to rest. Vlad slept on the fourth floor since that's where their mom and dad's room is, and Jax probably slept on the floor in Luna's room.
I finished my coffee and washed the cup and placed it to dry. I now made my way back to Luna's room and turned off the lights as I went. When I got there, it appears that Jax and Luna slept together on the bed. Luna was asleep, but Jax stared at me as I got inside the room.
"Still awake?" I smiled as I closed the door. There was still a dim light open so we could see each other's faces. "Go to sleep, dimwit."
"Yeah," there was a weird tone when he said those words. I felt like he was ending our conversation quicker. Not that I mind since I'm sleepy at this time of night.
"Night." I waved at him and he nodded in response. I now layed down beside my sister and faced the opposite side. I grabbed a blanket near me and covered the two of us. I counted sheeps and before I knew it, I fell asleep.
BONUS SCENE: The Sleepless Night (Warning: Undergarments.)
A drunk Jax made his way upstairs after being told by Vlad. He was so drunk that he couldn't even count the number of his fingers. His peripheral vision crumbled and crumbled as he was now crawling upstairs.
"Ughhh." He groaned as he drooled. He wiped it off with his shirt, he did the same for the one that dropped on the ground. He felt disgusted for his actions but he thought to himself: It'll all be forgotten tomorrow.
He got up and slowly made his way unto Luna's room. He opened the door and what his eyes laid upon made his heart race.
It was Luna, dressed in nothing but her undergarments. Jax's eyes were locked unto Luna's slim body. His eyes scanned her sleeping face, through her collarbone and down to her mountains.
He gulped down before shaking himself off his dirty thoughts. "L-Luna... Wear your clothes!"
"Hng... Too hot..." Luna talked in her sleep.
Jax scanned the room for her clothes. He was so focused on looking that his hazy mind was now nothing but a phase for tonight's delicacy. He bit his lip out of confusion, wondering what to do if his friend ever sees him in this position.
"Fuck!" He cursed as he noticed that her dress was near his foot. He quickly grabbed it and tried to force it on Luna. He succeded on inserting her head, but then he heard the quiet footsteps of someone approaching the room.
It was now a matter of his dignity and future. He knows that Dash will forever scar his life if he ever sees this scenario. Panicking, he grabbed a blanket under her pillows and spread it, covering the two of them. He quickly positioned himself on Luna's side before the door could open. He gripped tight unto the blanket as Dash appeared.
"Still awake?" His friend teasingly smiled at him. 'Just let this night be quick please!' he thought to himself.
Before he could reply, he felt an arm wrap around his chest. This caused a shock to him but he hid it by biting his lower lip. "Yeh."
He wanted to end the conversation quickly so he can get out of this miserable situation. "Got to sleep, dimwit." He tried to act cool so his friend wouldn't notice.
"Night." Dash waved as he proceeded to walk past them and now laid down next to her sister.
Jax turned and met Luna's face close to him. He could hear her breathing, he could smell her alcoholic breath, and to his own surprise, he felt calm. He tried to position her far but he was frozen. He couldn't feel his arms that were now folded on his chest.
He sighed as he gave up. This was a new experience to Jax. Him and a girl, both alone on a bed in the middle of the night. A romantic aroma filled his nose as he smiled at the girl. Somehow, he was happy but.... He's sad?
Tears form is his eyes as he smiled with all his tenderness. He sticked his forehead unto hers and finally said his last words for tonight.
"Good night, Luna."
During that night, Jax wasn't able to sleep. He just stared at his friend, admiring the moment as if it's his last.
