For a while, Ash stared at Kaori's head, still on the floor after she'd taken it off with her blade. She was still feeling some level of disbelief from the whole situation. However, here she was, having cut her girlfriend's head off in an attempt of freeing her.
... My life is so fucking weird, Ash thought as some soft footsteps thudded up to her, and Lumina's voice spoke out.
"Good work," the goddess told her.
"... It's done?" Ash asked, even though she already knew the answer to that question. She simply couldn't believe it.
"Seems like it," Lumina replied, looking down at Kaori's demonic corpse. "Heh. You may not be my champion, but I find myself feeling quite proud of you."
When Ash heard that, she looked over at Lumina briefly, before looking back at Kaori.
"So... What now?" She asked. The two of them were alone, as Niven had dissipated into nothing and the Higher Powers' physical forms weren't visible.
