Lin JinYan had been reluctant to leave Su Ning's party. If it were not for him having to drop off Su Kun and Qin Lan at their apartment, he would've stayed behind to spend more time with her. However, Lin JinYan could tell that Qin Lan was growing concerned about Su Kun's condition; however, she was loath to inform Su Ning lest she bring down the mood of the joyous occasion. As such, Lin JinYan could only do the right thing and take his uncle and aunt home.
It would be a lie for him to say that he was fine seeing the two happily together. But there was nothing Lin JinYan could do, at least not out in public. Su Ning didn't choose him. It hurt his heart to be just a friend to someone he was in love with. He has done so much for Su Ning, he loves her so much but why is it that she couldn't recognize his heart. Lin JinYan fell into deep despair. He felt as if someone was squeezing his heart tighter and tighter. Each day it was getting more and more difficult to breathe.
