Chapter 3 - Constitution Enhancement! Enemies on a Narrow Road!

"Bronze Treasure Chest opened. Constitution enhancement received! Constitution+3!"

The system interface appeared before his eyes.

Name: Linley Bart

Occupation: Trainee Apprentice Sorcerer

Constitution: 11

Strength: 7

Intelligence: 9

Magical Power: 3

Elemental affinity: 0%

Magic Mastered: None

"Ding! The average ability of an ordinary person is 10. Current host's ability rating: Weak."

The system gave such an evaluation.

"The system suggests that the host looks for more treasure chests as soon as possible to increase your strength in case the host encounters danger."

This information on the interface confirmed that Linley was indeed a weakling. He hadn't expected his original body to be so weak. But since opening treasure chests could increase his stats, it was only a matter of time before he became stronger.

"System, are there any more treasure chests nearby?"

"Ding! There is a Gold Treasure Chest 380 meters to the east! However, there is a possibility of encountering danger. Advised to proceed cautiously!"

Golden Treasure Chest!

Hearing that it was a Golden Treasure Chest, Linley knew that it was definitely something valuable. He really wanted to know what was inside the Golden Treasure Chest.

Right now, he really needed to improve his strength.

And 380 meters to the east… that seemed to be the senior students' dormitory.

They definitely wouldn't welcome a lower-grade student to their territory. What's more, Linley Bart had recently been beaten up by Otto. The others were definitely not any kinder than Otto.

This academy worked like this. Strength reigned supreme here.

In here, no one would care if your parents were an empire's king or emperor.

As long as your sorcery talent was low and you were a low-grade student, you had to be humble.

As long as the talented students were not killed, the college would accommodate them to the greatest extent.

This was because these people were all future high-level sorcerers who would hold great powers in this world!

And when they graduate, they would repay their alma mater with enormous resources.

For low-level sorcerers, their contribution to the school was insignificant.

This was also the reason why the upper-grade students could be so arrogant. If one did not have enough talent, they would never be able to advance to the upper grade.

The strength between each grade was an insurmountable gap!

Although Linley Bart had strengthened his body by 3 points, he was only able to heal his wounds and return to his normal state. His combat abilities were still very weak.

Going to the senior students' territory now was obviously not a wise choice.

But Linley Bart was a person who dared to take risks, someone who sought wealth from danger.

He did not want to remain weak and hence decided to give it a try.

After all, he was no longer that hedonistic son of a wealthy family, Linley Bart. He wanted to rewrite his life.

Linley didn't act rashly. He carefully made his way towards the treasure chest.

Perhaps it was because he was lucky, he did not see anyone along the way. However, when he finally arrived at the location, he did not see any treasure chests.

"System, where's the treasure chest?"

"Ding! The treasure chest is not necessarily on the ground. Some treasure chests are buried underground. You have to dig them out to open them."

"If I do so, won't the others see me digging here?"

"Only the host can see the treasure chest."

"Then I'm relieved. Time to start digging!"

Linley Bart didn't have a shovel. However, he vaguely remembered that an earth magic spell could dig a hole in the ground, but with his magical abilities, it would take some time before he could unleash it.

"Spirit of the Earth God, listen to my call. Please help me, return dust to dust, return earth to earth…"

This simple incantation only worked after Linley Bart chanted it a dozen times. Only then did the ground begin to loosen a bit and then a small hole appeared in front of him, from which a golden light began to shine.

"Golden Treasure Chest!" Linley Bart let out a startled cry.

This Golden Treasure Chest was indeed beautiful!

He was desperate to know what was inside the treasure chest.

"Ding! Discovered Golden Treasure Chest, open?"

"Open it!"

The Golden Treasure Chest slowly opened and a golden light began to shine from within. There was nothing inside, but a series of complicated patterns began to emerge from the chest, boring itself into Linley's mind.

He felt unprecedented clarity in his mind! The magic power that had been sleeping in his body began to flow.

"Congratulations, host! Magic power+5! Received the ability, "Instant Casting"!"

"Casting instantaneous spells, no matter what kind of magic it was, required no need for incantations or prerequisites, no need for ritualistic magic, and even no need for materials! One could directly cast the spell!"

Linley Bart was so excited that he wanted to jump up and down. This solved the problem of him having a difficult time chanting the incantation. In the future, he wouldn't have to chant the incantation more than ten times! He wouldn't have to worry about not being able to use his spells!

He thought back to the spell earlier and a hole appeared on the ground. He had instantly cast the spell!

As long as he had enough magic power, he could cast unlimited spells! This was unimaginable for ordinary sorcerers.

This was equivalent to having no cooldown time for using skills in games!

Who would have thought that merely a Gold Treasure Chest would contain such a powerful ability? This caused Linley Bart to begin to fantasize about what sort of treasures chests of higher quality would have?

At this moment, a voice that made him feel disgusted sounded from afar.

"Well well, look who it is. I was still wondering who dared to use magic in our territory and turn our land into a pothole." Otto walked over with a group of seniors.

"Have you forgotten your lesson? How dare you appear before me?"

"He's probably beaten silly, right?" The others echoed.

"Look, he destroyed our land!" Said a girl in an angry voice. "And all the flowers I planted here! Those are precious magic materials!"

"I'll pay you back." Linley Bart said to the girl.

"This isn't about paying money." Otto's face was already filled with anger. "You still dare to appear here and destroy our land? You're looking down on me. I was thinking that I had used too much strength last time. Looks like your bones are pretty tough. I must teach you a good lesson this time."

"Heh." Linley Bart let out a calm laugh. In his eyes, these people were all children, no more than fourteen or fifteen years old.

Who would argue with a group of children? He didn't want to tangle with these people either and turned around to leave.

"You want to run after causing such a commotion? It's not that easy." Otto took out his wand and accumulated some magic power. "Wind Blade!"

A green wind blade shot out from the magic staff. This was a rather lethal spell and one's skin would be torn apart if the spell touched him. If the magic power of the sorcerer casting it was strong enough, it could even cut a person in half.

Otto was enraged and hence used his full magic power.

Linley didn't even bother to dodge, not even turning his head to look at Otto.

Some of the girls covered their eyes, not daring to look, thinking that Linley Bart would be cut in half.

Just as the wind blade was about to reach Linley's back, suddenly, an earthen wall rose up from the ground, blocking the wind blade!

No one understood what had happened. Even Otto did not know what had happened. How did this earthen wall appear?

No one had chanted any incantations. It was impossible for anyone to cast such a spell in such a short period of time. They simply didn't believe that a trash like Linley Bart would be able to use a spell.

"Who had cast the spell?" Otto subconsciously suspected that it was someone else.

At this moment, Linley Bart slowly turned his head. "It's me."
