When Raven's warriors on her side will reach out to the cultists to begin direct combat, the plague mage unleashed a green wave that seemed to have the strength and purpose to cover the entire battlefield. I was shocked by this, plague mages are great assassins either when their target is one person or a huge group of people, but they are not so good for group fights like this.
This is because usually the presence of her companions makes their spells limited, and it's pretty rare for one of them to do something like this plague mage is doing. To be able to release a spell like this it is necessary to make the members of your team immune or have the antidote at hand so they are not affected by her magic.
The problem with this is that her magic can't be very strong or be modified on the battlefield. To immunize a group of allies from a disease or poison is a lengthy process and the fact that not one of the cultists appears to be taking an antidote, it seems to be exactly what these mad cultists have done.
Lucky for Raven this also means that this magic isn't very ferocious or deadly, most likely this green fog is some kind of virus, disease or debilitating poison. The cult warriors were completely covered by the green cloud that hit the warriors they only protected with their aura or elemental armor.
There wasn't a green core warrior led by Raven that wasn't ready to enter the fog, I was afraid that the warriors that came as reinforcements were weak and couldn't form an aura armor which is something only achieved by a few warriors at this stage. A full aura armor and a mark of warrior's orange and not green core, without above average skills it is impossible for them to form such complete aura or elemental armor, the weakest armors i see have only one or three pieces of armor missing be solidified.
The two dark figures that stood out as they penetrated the green cloud were Raven and Ana who followed right behind her, their armor was a mixture of aura strengthening elemental armor. In Ana's case there seemed to be a lot of aura binding the small black stones that covered her body, armor and weapons making her look even more aggressive than usual, it seems I'm not the only one who has improved in the last few months.
Raven has also changed a lot since the last time I saw her fighting seriously in the dungeons, her armor has always been black and compact, but now she looks much bigger and covered in a black cloak making her even wilder. I don't think this is a simple intimidation tactic on her part, that black cloak is probably a new offensive weapon of hers or a type of aura or elemental art.
The combat between the cultists and the military, as the smugglers tried to stay out of the fight, but they were still harassing the cultists but it's a shame for them that the plague mage released several spells against them. Seems like she doesn't really like traitors, she focused on the cultists even when Ana was chasing her across the field and battle, I was quite surprised by this choice of Raven, but when I saw that her spells had great difficulty penetrating Ana's defense.
In addition to the earth armor is aura and a vortex of wind over her body that prevents many of the plague mage's attacks, only when she released direct spells against Ana that seemed to have great corrosive power Ana had to defend herself from them by dodging, but even not being hit directly, the earth armor was being destroyed little by little.
Without the support of Mia who was controlling several snake-shaped lightning currents chasing the plague mage with Ana at the center of the attack, the plague mage would have had many opportunities to harm the warriors most vulnerable to her abilities.
But there were still several warriors who seemed to have been affected by the plague mage's spells, it seems that the antidote that was given wasn't capable of resisting the plague mage's spells very much.
Raven's combat against the leader of the cultists was very different from what a combat between a mage has against a female warrior, but this death mage wasn't a necromancer but looked like a death fighter when fighting at close range to Raven.
The death mage was involved in a black whirlwind formed by a ridiculously large amount of energy from the element of death, but when I focused on him, I realized that it was not formed simply by his staff but by a set of magical tools that he had in his body.
The energy was expelled from five elemental sources of the same type, this must be quite an expensive piece of equipment to make even considering that they are simple sources. Because this death element energy was controlled by the mana the mage expelled from his staff, he created a small zone of concentrated elemental energy that serves as a solid defense for him.
Even from afar I can deduce that coming into contact with this dark storm could kill me or drain the vitality of an orange core warrior if he doesn't protect it properly. When the mage moved across the battlefield avoiding Raven's frontal attack, he unleashed both offensive magic and manipulated the storm of death as whips which in turn were blocked by Raven's torn black cloak.
This is a really interesting coincidence, Raven has always shown me that she tends to try to tie up her opponents to perform deadly blows on them with her two-handed sword, usually only during a hard slash does she release her concentrated flames to execute her enemy with a single straight hit.
But now her shadow strings have evolved into an armored house that has really high defense, she has shown during the exchange with the death mage that she can completely block the properties of the mage's death element.
This is quite unusual since Raven, for me, has always been a warrior focused on offensive power despite using them less often during her fights, the demonstration of her current shadow element almost and capable of making me think that she became a warrior focused on defense.
The fact that the death element mage is getting closer to her with every exchange with her, it makes me realize that he made the mistake of thinking that Raven is a defensive warrior just like Ana who is attacking the plague mage who seems to be the second figure authority of this group of cultists.
This will be the fatal mistake for the death element mage to make an analysis error like this in a fight where your group is already at a disadvantage is horrible for them, the mage seems to be trying to cover Raven with his tentacles formed by the energy of death when he still maintains a black barrier between the two.
To respond to the death mage's onslaught Raven has slowed her down and let him have more freedom to try to trap her with his death element, this is a pretty risky move by Raven.
While Raven eluded the death mage and Ana chased the plague mage like a bloodhound, the rest of the warriors came into direct confrontation with the help of the smugglers who finally came forward to help in a more direct way.
The only warrior taking out the dead among the smugglers was Akin who seems to have no intention of getting into combat, it seems he is having trouble cleaning up the death element that has crept into his body.
It just makes me sure that Raven's defense is abnormal even for her, there must be some sort of magical tool with her similar to the elemental sources the death mage is using during combat to create this death zone, and something with the effect of enhancing the defense of your shadow element.
The combat of the warriors where there was very little assistance from the mages besides several walls of earth that seemed at the right moments to help our side, ended up being a somewhat uneven fight even when some warriors on our side lost their strength or initiative during combat.
Without the plague mage's assistance, the cult warriors would have been overpowered by our side, but that didn't stop our side from winning the fight, the problem and that many deaths were happening on both sides. As Sean slaughtered the cultists with his ax like an idiot who doesn't know how to control himself, he saw many warriors on our side being seriously injured by the cultists fighting like mad.
I've seen warriors fighting risky, but it seems that the cultists' whole style is all about sacrificing to hurt their enemies it was as if they were trying to trade their lives for the chance to kill their enemies. This is a very scary mindset that makes it difficult for the warriors on our side to follow Raven's orders to try to capture as many cultists as possible and not kill them all.
The fight started to drag and only the defeat of one of the cultist's leaders could force the end of the combat, the longer the combat lasted, the greater the possibility that the losses on our side were too great.
