The cold north wind shakes the trees and grass as it travels across the plains, nothing beats a cold, dark night to hunt a small flaming dragon. We were lucky that the light from the new light is very weak today even though yours is completely clean, the less light the better it will be for most of our team.
With all the preparations ready and all the team members rested, apart from Raziel who is in a slightly depressed mood because he suffered some more verbal attacks from Skadi, Alice, Nótt and Gloria who doesn't seem to have liked him since the moment she saw him. But that's not so shocking, the shocking part is that Hilda didn't join them and even tried to focus on the hunt, but I think she did that mainly because Gloria was on the other side of the dispute.
The first part of the operation, after positioning the group around the cave in three small groups, was to set the explosives. With Gloria's help we buried several explosives in the mountain, unfortunately as Gloria couldn't use much elemental energy to make a deep hole in the mountain and have a chance to wake the dragon, this also made making the holes a very slow process.
It took us more than two hours to set everything up without waking the dragon that must be hibernating after eating the bear he must have killed a short time ago; it seems that the adventurers weren't enough to fill his stomach to hibernate. Thinking about it when I placed the explosives, I realized that this dragon might be a little bit older than I thought, he must be trying to eat food with a lot of mana to climb faster to the peak of level three to finally change to a young dragon.
Turning away from the mountain with Gloria at my side, I look at the rest of the team getting confirmation from all of them, I lift a small metal rectangle covered in runes and wave to Nótt. She closes her eyes and focuses her mana on the salt staff, it only took a few seconds, but what would seem like minutes to everyone who was focused on her, a purple explosion came out of Nótt's staff and traveled into the cave through her entrance, at that exact moment. moment I injected my aura into the small rune arrangement I held.
Even before the dragon's roar left the cave the silence of the night was broken by the loud signal coming out of my hand, a high-pitched sound cut through the night and caused an even greater sound as several explosive rune arrangements scattered across the ceiling and entrance. from the dragon's nest exploded within a ridiculously short range.
The roar that the dragon tried to let out at the moment the explosions were happening was almost completely suppressed by the sound of the explosions, if we weren't facing a dragon, it would have been funny.
I focused my eyes on the dragon who was crushed by a large amount of earth, his body was completely enveloped by earth and even with the superior strength of a dragon he seems to be having a bit of trouble moving in this situation.
With several feet of earth on him the dragon started to make his way to the surface, I don't know if it's instinct or he's smarter than I expected, but the dragon is digging up in a straight line. He's almost out and has barely spent thirty seconds underground, not that I'd think he'd be several minutes underground, but I thought he'd still spend nearly a minute getting off the mountain.
As the dragon was about to leave, I shot an arrow right where it was going to signal my team, when I put my bow away, I looked at Nótt hoping she could give a sign of affirmation so we would know if the curses had had enough time to affect the dragon, but she is focused on the magic she was preparing to hit the dragon when he left the land.
She wasn't the only one, the Zephyr wind had already covered the entire team and the shadows of Rays and Raziel were already positioned around my arrow to bind the dragon in its moment of vulnerability as it left the earth. Spears pointed; shields positioned to fend off the dragon's onslaught I was the last to get ready as I drew my sword.
Finally, the expected moment the dragon's claw tore the earth and after it the dragon's head came out of the earth letting out a roar of rage, when his neck was free and before his second claw made his way to the surface the dragon suffered the attack of the entire team together.
His neck has been tied and pulled back by the shadows that are traveling to his mouth in an attempt to tie his mouth down to prevent him from unleashing his flames, but when he was pulled to one side, he used his strength to go forward. when his second claw started to come out of the ground, but because of that he was not able to notice the other attacks that were aimed at him.
The three spears pierce different points on his neck tearing through their scales, he really is unlucky because it looks like his neck is not the part of his body that was lucky enough to switch scales. The ice spears and the wind spear pierced his neck to the point that all three spearheads entered the dragon's body.
The pain he felt turned into a roar and the urge to get up, he propelled his body forward with his two support limbs, he was hit by a purple cloud that entered his body without him noticing. His forward momentum was met by a double slam, Bougi led a charge with Gloria against the dragon's head which was down as he threw his body forward.
An ice shield hit the center of the dragon's head and an earth shield the link between head and neck, the force of a charge like this barely able to push the dragon, but when two join at the moment he has no support. because of its unsupported position the dragon's head was pushed by the two and the dragon's body became crooked.
The ropes of shadow that tied the dragon's neck went to its body and pulled it down to one side of the dragon's body to tip the dragon over.
Of the three attackers Hilda had to quickly retreat to avoid the body of the dragon that was falling towards her, but Alice and Skadi could attack the dragon's side and belly as it fell, the two made several lunges at him to open as many as possible. of wounds on its body so that the dragon had multiple bleed spots scattered throughout its body so the bleeding curse could drain the dragon's enormous vitality.
More unfortunately several of their quick thrusts met resistance, several points of the dragon's belly scales already had matured scales of a level four dragon and at those points the blows of the two didn't have the power to penetrate the dragon's flesh.
The dragon's moment of weakness didn't take long to end after he tumbled to the ground, with his body finally free he could spin his body in a circular sweep against the surrounding enemies. In response to this my team's warrior retreated as I made my first move against the dragon, when his momentum ended, I concentrated all of my large amount of aura and elemental energy of lightning and wind into my sword and landed a blow on the dragon's tail.
I aimed right at the junction between the tip of the tail that is hardened for him to use as a weapon and the flesh that was protected by few childish scales yet, with a solid base to support the pack my sword crashed into the dragon's tail in a clean cut. and bent, these two opposing forces caused my sword to cut to the bone of the dragon's tail without difficulty causing a deep and bloody wound in the dragon's body.
With the pack, the ground I used to assert myself was destroyed with the force of the dragon and I was thrown several meters back, but my hit was perfect. I created a large clean and curved rip in the dragon's tail, this wound will not only be a great bleeding point but the dragon's flesh is exposed to be hit again and with this wound the dragon will think twice about turning its body again.
As I was thrown to the ground I heard the dragon roar again, the sky lit up with a red color.
When I rose from the ground, I saw the dragon's flames scorching the field. Unfortunately, from my position I could only see some of my party members attacking the dragon's back.
Hilda used her spear like an ice sword to cut the dragon's scales in one sweep when the dragon burned the other side of the battlefield, this kind of wound doesn't do much damage but they do open a place for the shadows to attack dragon.
The dragon's physical strength was too much for Ryas to contain even with the help of Raziel's shadow element, so instead of trying to pin the dragon to the ground she used the cuts Hilda had inflicted on the dragon's body to tear apart and inject her corrosive dark element. The wounds opened wider as the shadows entered and expanded into the wound on the dragon's body, this must have caused the dragon great pain because it stopped the dragon's flames and made him try to get away from the threats that surrounded him.
Because of the various injuries and pain, he was suffering without being able to fight back properly, the dragon decided to flee on an impulse he threw himself into the air and flapped his wings to gain altitude, but that was a bad idea.
The dragon was under the effect of the first set of curses that Nótt was on him, when he picked up altitude, he must not even have noticed anymore his body tilted in the air and this caused the mana he concentrated on his now crooked wings because of his tilt of your glass would cause it to spin violently in the air and fall very violently to the ground.
This was a stronger blow than my entire team could have dealt, the force of the pack must have been enough to injure the dragon's entire body, but still not enough to break their bones at most he must have cracked some bones have had some organs injured.
A small dragon's body is not strong enough to protect it from a landing like this, a young dragon could fall from a much greater height and at a greater speed creating a deep crater when falling, and it would still take much less damage than the small dragon. dragon just suffered.
A child's body is not ready to fly and so a small dragon can only fly for a short time and at a relatively safe altitude.
My entire team ran after the dragon as it fell, but upon arriving at the crash site to take the chance to further injure the dragon we didn't find a dragon passed out on the ground but a dragon covered in fire and when he realized something or someone was getting close to him, he let out a breath of fire with as much strength as he could muster.
But because of his disorientation and blindness which must have reached its maximum effect he threw his fire in the wrong direction, but even so it came very close. The flames passed a little more than a meter away from my team, Bougi who was leading the team with his ice shield to protect the group from the dragon fire attack must have breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the fire missing our position.
"Don't just approach the dragon, Nótt keep the curses on the dragon working and the rest that can attack from afar aim for the dragon's wounds. He is very confused and must have hurt his legs in the fall! Let's wear out salt vitality!"
The group circled the dragon keeping their distance so they could have room to dodge the fire that the dragon might end up throwing in their direction. Looks like this dragon is pretty unlucky.
Perhaps this mission is easier than we expected.
