Chapter 227 - First fight.

After yesterday I believe I will have a few days off until Master's next class, she must have to spend a lot of time convincing Sister Celina to join my training or find another healer to heal me during training. But after doing some math I realized that the master really invested a lot of money in my training, she didn't really hold back to help me only the matrix I already use to have a real fight to practice my lightning element must have already cost a lot, even though she probably had that expense put into the institute's expense account.

She couldn't do that by hiring a healer, if she were going to try something like that, she would have to make the institute healers heal me during training and they would probably resuscitate themselves from doing this, they must already know the teacher well as they must. work for her for a few years, so they should know how to dodge her crazy ideas.

At least that's what I heard from Professor Liv I had a class with yesterday, most of the classes were canceled because of the tests as spending competitors' time on classes instead of preparing for the test is not a very good idea, but after the last test some classes started to work again in a different way.

Classes are not mandatory but teachers are still available to help students with their doubts, I think some teachers may have missed teaching because the theory that they are short of work is a lie. All the teachers were too busy cleaning up the mess from the last round of the deadly test, during the teacher's class I was able to clear a lot of doubts about some of the things I saw the wind element wizards do during the test, but unfortunately my current level is way above that. level taught in my current classes, so I ended up not learning anything about how I sweat out my wind element or improve my control over it.

With my hands completely healed after a rest day I went back to my training routine, I didn't focus so much more on my lightning element because basically I checked for a bottleneck in it, to have a significant improvement in my lightning element I have to increase the stage from my core which luckily is already close. I feel like my core is only a few days or a week from reaching its limit so I can attempt a breakthrough, as it's only an early to intermediate stage advancement I doubt I have any problems during the advancement.

But before my week could be considered normal and quiet, Hilda got involved in my training week causing me problems, even though she didn't know what she was doing.

"What are you doing?"

It's natural for her to be curious, right now I'm sitting with my legs curled in the grass on mine in an empty training ground, to be more exact I'm training my control over merging my aura with my elemental energy which is a technique used by the elite of the green core warriors. The reason I'm training this now is because my control over my aura and elemental energy is compared to green core warriors and even though I can't perform this fusion in combat or even outside my core, Professor Balder said after my last class with him, that trying to fuse my aura with my elemental energy within my core is possible most extremely difficult.

In his opinion, this is the best training I can do to improve my control over my aura and elemental energy and at the same time train a technique that I will have to master in the future. I particularly enjoyed the training because I don't spend a lot of energy on it so I can train for a long period of time the only downside is that my body is not strengthened during this training.

"Training."

"Looks like you're sleeping."

"What brought you here today, Hilda? Did she get bored and decided to skip our training?"

"No, I came today to find out why you won't fight at the club today?"

"I don't really feel like going there."

"Really? Even though today is my debut?"

This is new.

"Are you going to fight today? I thought you weren't going to waste your time training unarmed combat or that your aunt would like you to join the club, what's changed?"

"Things change, I have been training for the last month and improve my mastery of unarmed combat."

"And your aunt?"

"She changed her mind after the club grew, due to the new influx of mercenaries in the city and the arrival of some nobles from other parts of the kingdom the fight club became much more popular. When I participate, I will not only be representing myself but I will also be representing the younger generation of my family, because of the latest events and foreseeing the shit that will happen in the future, my hand allowed me to participate in the fights to show the strength of the family, the only condition she gave me so I could participate and not lose a fight badly."

"So, your aunt's ban was vetoed by your mother, who will be your first opponent?"

"I have no idea, but are you going to watch my fight?"

"Difficult, to be honest, I'm not allowed to leave the institute."

"Like this? Since when can the institute arrest a student?"

"From the moment that my teacher and her director, she believed that if I left the institute, I would get myself into unnecessary trouble."

Hilda's face is thoughtful as if the reason I'm not going out is an enigma.

"She's not wrong, you're a magnet for trouble, but I still wish you were there with me."

In my sentence Hilda had thrown herself at me.

"Then? Should I go or not?"

"I went to see your first fight so you should go to mine, I believe you just need to behave yourself so that you'll be able to avoid getting into trouble."

"When you say that, it seems like I'm to blame for the problems I've had. I think I'm much more a victim of other people than the culprit for the problems I face."

"Just thinking like that makes you feel better, I won't be the one to spoil your fantasy."

"Do you think I'm to blame?"

"You are a magnet for trouble, Ulric."

"But if I go with you today and shit hits, it's your fault."

"So, are you going to see my fight?"

I think I have to accept that I'm going to get in trouble.

"Yes, but I want it on the record that if something bad happens it's your fault."

"Thanks, I'll see you later."

Hilda kisses me goodbye and almost runs out of the training ground.

"Because I feel this was a big mistake."

I spent a few more hours training, but when the sun set, I went to get ready to go watch Hilda's debut. Obviously, I've put on my armor and I'm carrying my sword and hunting knife, I may be hoping I don't have any more problems and it's bad to be prepared.

On my way out of the institute I join Raziel and Torris who seem to be waiting for me.

"Hi, are you waiting for me?"

"Can you think of any other reason we're standing in front of the institute, unlucky man?"

"Yes, Ulric. Hilda invited us both to go see her premiere today, so I thought we could go to the arena together."

They should have rehearsed their story before I arrived, looks like I have an escort today to protect me from my misfortune.

"So, what's the real story?"

"Both."

"Hilda invited us and asked us to travel as a group, it seems that she believes that if you leave the institute, you will be attacked. Do you know why she thinks this will happen?"

"Are you suicidal? Someone asks you to become a target and you say yes."

"I think Hilda is exaggerating, as Torris comes because she doesn't want to be alone or has the courage to deny a lady's request."

"Shut up, Raziel. We are Ulric friends, and it's natural to help a friend, but I'm also curious as to why Hilda thinks you're in danger?"

"This is tricky, but in short I'm a magnet for trouble and as the city is full of unknown people who are very excited it's pretty sure I'm in trouble."

The first to agree with mistress was Raziel.

"That makes a lot of sense, you're a magnet for trouble. Captain Raven even gave up on leaving town because taking you could bring so much trouble to the group that we could all end up dead."

"Glad you agree with her, but as far as I remember that's not why captain Raven gave up going after the ancient ruin. As far as I remember it was me who warned the captain about the danger of leaving town in the wake of a dangerous rumor."

"Important details. Let's get going?"

"I think we'd better head to the arena soon, Ulric. If we're late, the problem we're going to have been an angry Hilda."
