Chapter 211 - Test in the emerald forest. (33)

The impasse of our fight didn't last long the energy of the earth element mages and warriors is running out and when it ends the fort's defenses have fallen, but they still managed to drain a good part of our enemies' mana and aura and gave time to let Ryas' magic do good damage to all enemy warriors.

I'm trying to back off and blow up the fort when they enter, Ingredi has already prepared the tunnel and that would probably be the safest strategy we can run, but the morale of the students on our side hasn't diminished under pressure from our enemies, the morale it has only increased with the course of the conflict, an enormous desire to crush the elves was forming in each of them.

It would be a waste and maybe even a blow to the morale of all students on our side to back down now, it's no use asking my fellow leaders for their opinion as two of them are completely overwhelmed by the desire to crush the elves now and Ingredi wouldn't be much too happy to retreat, I believe she would take this as a defeat and not a tactical retreat to increase our chances of victory.

But my side isn't the only one that has gotten even more excited about the battle, the savagery the elves are displaying is nothing short of the catharsis the dwarves led earlier. Even Flora who is known to be a calm and rational mage is unleashing an even greater number of offensive spells while having a wild smile on her face.

If I wasn't a very observant person and keep my senses alert as I hate being the target of hidden enemies and being the target of certain illusory attacks that have affected me within this maze of matrices, I have been trying to pay close attention throughout the whole world. environment around me, even during a battle like this.

The top of the fort has started to fall apart with each explosion that is released on the walls of the fort, the gate has also reached its limit and is about to be destroyed. It seems like the first phase of this fight has come to an end; I just hope my plan for the next phase has the same level of success.

Caliban leading the warriors bursting through the gate and upon entering the fort he released a wave of golden aura that lit up the entire interior of the fort and this revealed that he is now surrounded by several warriors, archers and mages. When they were breaking down the gate and I ordered the mages to retreat and prepare to ambush the warriors, the wall will still last for some time to be bombarded by the enemy mages.

When Caliban realized they were in a bad position, he decided to step back and unite with the mages, but before he could retreat several explosions broke out in his path creating a wall of concentrated fire in front of him. Now with him trapped between a wall of fire and his enemies, I give the signal to Ingredi that I still have saved some of his mana.

The earth that was around the proton collapsed and buried the warriors who in turn unleashed their attacks against the rocks that fell on them or protected themselves with their shields, but after the rocks they were targeted by various arrows and offensive spells. When the ranged attacks ended those on our side, warriors attacked the group led by Caliban.

A chaotic fight was born when the two sides of warriors began to fight each other. Various auras and different elemental energies will spread through the entrance of the fort, some more skilled archers still fired some arrows at the enemy warriors, but archers who didn't have this ability had to join the close combat as reinforcement for the warriors who were already fighting.

I obviously didn't join this chaotic battle to fight up close with my fists or the crappy sword I got from one of the other archers, I was basically positioned on top of the chaotic battle on a small earth platform that Ingredi made for me.

My common arrows were fired downwards with my wind element piercing the shoulders of enemy warriors as I am not stupid to aim at their head, even an arrow without a sharp point the arrow fired from my position would have enough strength to seriously injure if it hits. the heads of those warriors who are wearing helmets.

Beside me Zen are also shooting their poison arrows, but unfortunately our ambush is coming to an end. I can already hear the magic of the elves on the other side of the wall that is about to collapse completely, it's when they fall the warriors will be hit again by an even bigger avalanche of earth, the problem is that the warriors on my side too will be hit by the ground.

Coming out of my exhibit on the wall I lead the mages to the other side of the fort and give the order to the warriors led by Sindri who was fighting head-on with Caliban to step back and step away from the wall that will fall.

The ferocious bombardment of Flora and her fire and wind magicians the wall of the fort collapsed and buried a good part of the warriors on her side who couldn't get away because Sindri made a shield wall in front of them to bar them. The earth that came from the wall reached Sindri's shield wall, even though the amount of it is small and it wasn't even able to bury the warriors who were crashing into the shield wall, the other warriors led by Caliban were not so lucky, several of them were injured by rocks and earth collapsing.

When Flora realizes what her mages have caused, she must be very angry and embarrassed. I've given the order for everyone to retreat to the gate on the other side of the fortress, I'm not going to use Ingredi's secret tunnel to escape, we're going to go out the front door anyway.

Caliban was still attacking in a wild way the shield wall was getting fired, Caliban's attacks were being able to bend the turret shield Taka is wielding to block it. Even the turtle warrior who is at the same stage as Caliban and using an elemental shield made over mediated for him, Caliban's golden offensive is still pushing him back and damaging Taka's shield.

If it weren't for the fact that Caliban had already expended almost all of his aura and elemental energy on his attacks, he would be the strongest warrior in this test, the strength his shield sword has been releasing for a long period of time and something that even a green core warriors would have trouble replicating.

But the problem we're facing right now isn't the wizards who will soon join the fight, but Merilren and Galelmar who have finally unleashed their offensive trump cards like Caliban's by digging themselves out of the destroyed wall.

Merilren, a warrior with the element of wind, released a reddish aura from her blood red whip which she began to use against the tip of the shield wall that retreated towards the exit. Her whip not only accumulated a great deal of wind and aura but the warriors who were blocking her whip with their shields seemed to be suffering, exposure to this red aura which didn't seem to intensify Merilren's attack much, this red aura seems cause pain against those hit by her.

Galelmar's trump card was much less flashy than Merilren and Caliban's, his aura didn't turn a different color or spread around his two-handed sword or armor. The only reason I could see that he started using his trump card was because the aura that was in his body started to glow and concentrate in a much larger amount inside his body.

The left end of the shield wall was almost collapsing from the swing of Galelmar's two-handed sword, it appears that his trump card is much more aimed at increasing Galelmar's physical abilities with a greater consumption of aura and elemental energy than affecting the enemies with aura or its fire element.

Between these two new problems I believe Galelmar is the most complicated to deal with, the pain that seems to be caused by the red aura Merilren is releasing must be irritating, but a warrior with a two-handed sword with enormous physical power seems very more dangerous in my humble opinion. If it weren't for the aura and elemental energy that was created by the shield wall, the warriors who block Galelmar's attacks would have already had their shields and bodies cut by his two-handed sword.

But it's too bad for them that we're already ready to go through the gate, but before we got through them a lava rift had sprouted in front of the shield wall and Orion was in it creating a lava wave with his spear and the help of the magic of Amael, this blow forced the warriors to retreat and protect themselves from that concentrated lava strike that Amael and Orion had been preparing for a long time.

Even the golden glow that Caliban's aura emitted was held back by the lava, and this gave us a chance to rush through the proton and close it when the earthen obstacle that was created by the collapse of the fort wall was destroyed by Flora who led the attack of the mages.
