It seems that even before I complete my team, I will already have to fight others, not that my team is any weaker than these three teams. A quarter of the participants in this confused combat are still in the final stage of the black core.
There's not even a fighter or mage in the middle stage of the black core, they've probably all been eliminated from the test, even the remaining black cores should have been eliminated if it wasn't for the team system. If leaders weren't basically forced to recruit the first ten people we met in the rune matrix maze, I doubt any leader would be very willing to fill their team with people with a black core.
Ingredi's team only has two black core fighters, it's not a number that harms her team's combat power too much, the current problem is how I'm going to get into this messed up fight she's gotten herself into. I don't have much time to think as Hilda is about to jump out of my arms and attack the first unlucky one who gets in her way.
Luckily for me there aren't many mages on this battlefield, except for Ingredi only two other mages who are part of the elf team, one of them has the wind and water element, the other only has wind. Both are bombarding a pair of dwarves who are very skilled and strong shield warriors, they are dealing with the mages while protecting their team's archers and are positioned to block Caliban should he try to attack your party.
Ingredi is defending her team from the attack of a human and dwarf, while the girls from the fox tribe are leading her team's offensive fighting the humans led by Caliban. A strange balance formed by the conflict between the three teams, is I have already chosen my target.
I don't know why the dwarves are looking for me, but I'm sure of Caliban's goal, the decision that benefits me the most is to eliminate Caliban now, before he gathers more elves or teams up with some ally. If I go in attacking Caliban's team's back, I will force the dwarves to attack him along with Ingredi, I doubt the dwarves will lose their chance to eliminate Caliban's team.
As I move my team behind Caliban's defensive formation, I notice I get noticed by the dwarf leader, I notice this because he looked directly at my team's position instead of keeping an eye on Caliban. I don't know what caught his attention, whether he actually noticed my group's presence or just thought he saw something moving in his peripheral vision.
By staying behind the bushes and trees, I didn't have much time to start my attack, I was barely able to stop Hilda and Vanessa from attacking Caliban's team. This latest addition happened because she seems to have a very strong motive to get revenge on one of Caliban's team members.
I have no idea what happened between them, but she almost gave us our ticket when she started cursing and promising that she would castrate the human warrior who has an elemental ice element seed on Caliban's team, I have no idea the name of the unlucky one, Vanessa, she just called him names I'd rather not register in my memory, she really likes the idea of neutering the ice warrior, she keeps going back on her promise to castrate him.
He must have done something very unforgivable to be the target of so much hate and anger from Vanessa, I just hope she doesn't try to fulfill her wish to slash the ice warrior during the test. I doubt the punishment for neutering another student will be small.
With all the preparations ready I give the signal to my team. Obviously, it's not me leading the vanguard of the attack, I left that to Hilda and Vanessa who are going like two berserkers against Caliban's team.
Hilda and Vanessa took aim at the people closest to them who were the elven mages, as the back position would normally be a safe haven in the type of combat, they're having, but with the addition of my team that position has become a weakness. When the mages realized that two women were running wild, they directed their attacks against the two, one of them creating a barrier of water and wind, but it's a shame that against Hilda's ice element or Vanessa's lightning element this barrier will be cut. as if it were a level one spell.
While the two blocked the mages' attacks with their own combination of elemental energy and aura in their weapons, I followed behind them along with Amael and in the rear were the two pyromancers. The race didn't stop Amael from unleashing a wave of fireballs against the mages' defense, he even timed the fireballs pack to be just before the girls arrived, so the mages' shields are still recovering when Hilda and Vanessa make their attack.
But we weren't the only ones to attack Caliban's team in a direct way, the dwarf leader must really have noticed my team's presence, because unlike Ingredi he didn't hesitate to order his entire team to attack Caliban. Ingredi was a little shocked and so was her team, I don't think she expected Hilda to show up on her battlefield.
But Caliban, was not an idiot leader, the moment he realized he was surrounded. He advanced against the dwarves and sent his team back to the side where he gave his team the best chance to escape, he was stronger than I imagined or his equipment is very good, because he released a golden aura from the shield he was carrying and not it only blocked the attack of four people, as it sent them back by releasing a wave of golden aura.
First time I see a move of this nature it's pure aura, but it's a little different and that golden shield must be the culprit, and it's a shame I don't have time to admire his equipment. Of course, I'm not going to aim at him, I'm going to aim at wizards.
He can run away, but he'll leave the mages behind, Hilda and Ingredi pierced the mages' defense and Amael created a wall of earth to try to block the elf team's escape route, but against the golden elf his wall broke completely.
The amount of aura he is releasing is not something a gray core warrior should be able to do, with golden ball of light destroying everything in his path I advance against the ice element warrior who stayed behind to protect the escape of your friends. A very noble and altruistic attitude, but it proved to be stupid as Vanessa jumped on him brandishing her sword covered in purple lightning, she discarded her attack against the mages and turned into the ice warrior who looks shocked when she realized that the lightning element warrior was Vanessa.
I use the sword I stole from the elves to attack the warrior who was covering himself with a layer of ice that contained an enormous amount of aura. My blade barely managed to cut through the ice, but it ended up landing on the metal without doing much damage, Vanessa's sword was blocked by the ice shield that had the ice cover destroyed.
Vanessa's blow was really violent and she didn't stop with a single attack, she began to furiously attack the ice element war. I thought the mages would run away as only Hilda was chasing them, but the team led by the dwarf was able to completely block the mages.
Caliban led his team away, but left behind two elf mages and the ice warrior, this is a pretty big loss for his team and the test won't be too easy for him now. I turned to help Hilda, but Mauro and Nathan joined her and the elven mages were already looking desperate when they were separated from their brilliant leader, dealing with them won't be a big deal.
I turn to the ice warrior who has gone on the offensive and is in a duel against Vanessa, if it weren't for two madmen swinging blades intent on killing each other, this would be a very memorable fight. The two fight more like animals than humans, the hatred they share was really big, so big that no one tried to get in my way of their fight.
Even Amael, who was prepared to blast the ice warrior with her fire magic, gave up on interfering in the two madmen's fight. He turned to the dwarves and prepared to get around the fight and I joined in for him, but the dwarf who was leading the team didn't attack me, he actually started laughing and insulting the Caliban who was walking away, even his team joined him.
It seems their dispute was caused by personal issues and not about the test. While I waited for them to finish with their posters, but the rest of my team ended up taking down the elves, disarming them and tying them up.
I joined Hilda who was hugging an Ingredi who seemed to be dying of shame now, Hilda can be very effective with Ingredi when she thinks Ingredi is in danger.
Vanessa's and the ice warrior's duel persist until the two are fighting each other with only their weapon, because both have already expended all of their aura in their uncontrolled attacks. Neither one of them held back during the fight, and now the fight is getting sad and short.
