"I don't know what I am searching for anymore. I don't have a purpose in life. What did I do everything for? Who or what am I".
It all started long back when I was just like every other kid. I may not look like it but I was once human before, leading a simple and normal life. I never got the chance to see my parents. They died in a fire after I was born. I had a twin sister who lived with me since then. I was given the name Emile. I lived with my grandparents for the next 15 years. I went to school at Tetsuru high school. I either spent most of my time in the library reading fantasy novels or practicing kendo. I read stories of how gods were once humans who got reincarnated after they died. I am not the athletic type but I was exceptionally skilled in kendo. No one could beat me in swordplay. I learned all my secret sword techniques from Itayashi family. The Itayashi family was quite famous for their skills with the sword. After the death of my grandparents, The Itayashi's were the ones who took me in. Practice in the morning, high school, practice in the evening. It was the same routine day after day. I practiced with swords until it became a part of my own body. My twin sister, on the other hand, is different. She was separated from me when the Itayashi took me in. She is exceptionally talented and gifted at studies. She was a true prodigy and the school idol. She even became the student council president. Even though she is different from me, we were still siblings and I loved her very much. We would get together every now and then and have fun. I always wonder who my parents were. My life was simple until that 'day' came. It was summer and I had to make up for the classes I missed during the kendo championships. The sound of the train passing by woke me up in the morning as always. I was already running late so I had to skip my breakfast. My friend Asashi came to my house like he did every day and we started walking to school. I didn't have enough money to take the bus and neither did he. It was raining super heavily. It was very dark for a day. Thunder clouds were forming. I had a bad feeling about this. It was awfully chilly for the summer. It rarely rained in our city. I was soaking wet. I felt a chill down my spine indicating that something was seriously wrong. We ran as fast as possible only to see that the building near the academy got burned by the lightning strike. I went to the student council president room, the only room in the academy with tv, and switched it on. All the channels broadcast the same thing. The whole world is under a great threat. The Kanto region on the east has been completely submerged underwater. I couldn't believe what I was seeing
"Are you kidding me, are they fooling me or what".
All the news channels showed one natural disaster or another.
"Earthquakes with a magnitude of 7, hurricanes and thunderstorms, what on earth is happening to the world".
Volcanoes had erupted in many nations, buildings were crumbled to dust. I felt like this was all a crazy dream happening. My sister came inside the room and asked me to go back to my class. I was still shocked and stunned. I didn't know what was going on. I couldn't concentrate on my studies at all. I kept telling myself the tv is broken and I am overthinking things. Right when I was about to convince myself that nothing has happened, all the doors and windows shattered into a million pieces. The ground was shaking like anything. I was feeling very dizzy and was affected by nausea, feeling inclined to vomit. All the students were being evacuated and the government had placed a curfew. I was too weak to even walk. I think I had passed out and my sister must have taken me to his home. When I woke up I could see my sister covered in blood. I was very confused and my forehead was throbbing continuously. The astronomy department of Japan has reported that a meteor from outer space is going to hit Tokyo soon. There were too many questions that were left unanswered. The internet was flooded with queries. I asked myself
"is the world really going to end".
The government all over the world agreed and came to the conclusion that the sun had disappeared. Due to this, it affected the balance in nature which led to our current situation. We all were in chaos. We didn't know where to go or what to do. We all knew that death is close and at any minute we would die. I could see that the sky had turned completely green and various shades and tints of mysterious light shone around like flashlights in the sky. Everyone was scared. I could see numerous dead bodies lying outside. There was so much blood. I was crying at the sight of my dead sister. I wept mournfully at the realization and corpse of my departed kin. The only person who brought happiness and joy to me was dead. I bode my time until the hour of death arrived so that I would finally reunite with my sister on the journey and destination of the afterlife.
