Roman Silas stared at his brother with a smirk. "Wipe that smirk off your face, you ass" Dean glared at his brother. He was angry at Roman for bragging about what happened at the party that night also he was worried for Mia at the same time.
He was afraid if his brother's words made Mia uncomfortable. "I know that you have feelings for Mia Grace" Roman spoke as he sipped a red wine. Dean furrowed his brows. "Who said that? I don't want to make her uncomfortable. Stop being a matchmaker"
he scolded his brother as if he was older than Roman. "So you do?" Dean rolled his eyes as he stared at his brother with a frown. "Don't ever ask that question again, she just divorced. Don't make her uncomfortable" Dean furiously spoke but there was a redness on his cheeks and ears.
At the time, Mia and Bailey came back from solving misunderstandings. Mia explained to Bailey that she had a guy who was really important to her but he left her alone in the cruel world. Mia told the truth to Bailey but didn't include about Henry's name and reborn things.
She acted like she didn't want to tell about that so Bailey could understand her and would not ask again. Bailey Joy might look like a murderess and cursed at you till you die but she was an understanding friend who was soft inside.
As Mia saw Dean at the table, she lowered her head in embarrassment and kept walking to the table with Bailey. She bit her lips as prepared to tell an apology which she just practiced in her head. Dean looked at the girl who was walking to him while avoiding eye contact.
He didn't like it. He didn't like the fact of her avoiding the eye contact. He hated the fact that Mia had a guy who was really special and important to her. But he didn't accept those emotions. He held himself back from falling for Mia Grace.
Mia Grace just divorced George Seith.
She might need a break to rest. He had heard about how George Seith turned blind eye on Mia Grace when she was hospitalized. He just found out about that three days ago from his connections. At first he thought Mia Grace was a clingy spoiled woman.
But actually she was a lonely woman who needed to be protected at all cost. He still remembered that time when she suddenly hugged him at the party that night. She looked at him as if she finally met her long lost lover. He heard her calling 'Henry' many times.
He believed that the guy who was special to Mia was that Henry. When he thought about her having a lover, he got annoyed. His brother would tell him about how Mia loved George before and he would get annoyed. He thought it was because Roman was gossipping.
But actually it was because he didn't like the fact that Mia was married to an asshole. She knew that her husband didn't like her and yet she was ready to sacrifice her life. Dean hated it, he would like to grab Mia Grace away from her husband and showed the fact.
He wanted Mia Grace to accept the fact.
But now the divorce new came out. He was happy when he heard that new. Mia Grace finally saw the truth, she accepted that fact. His worries vanished into thin air quickly after Mia Grace divorced George Seith. His opinion on her had changed that night where she hugged him.
He thought she was a crazy creepy woman who wanted him when she hugged him suddenly, but turned out she mistook him with another man. Dean Silas decided to find out about Henry who was so important and special to Mia Grace.
Meanwhile when Mia and Bailey arrived to the table, Roman didn't stand up from the seat. He just sat beside Bailey with a stone face as Dean glared at his brother for his behavior. Bailey pinched her boyfriend's arm with a burning gaze. But Mia didn't complain.
She sat down beside Dean Silas. "Ahem" she fake coughed as prepared to apologize. "I am so sorry for my behavior. My behavior was very inappropriate. I deeply apologize. I was out of control. My mind thought you were someone who I know. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable.
Please don't think I am creepy. It is just because you look like him" Mia spoke like a robot reading a textbook. Dean only listened and looked at the young woman who was lowering her head as biting her lips in embarrassment. His lips curved up into a small smile.
"It is ok"
Mia looked up at Dean with furrowed eyebrows. Shouldn't Dean be angry at her? In the novel, it was showed that Dean Silas was uncomfortable with touch. But now he even said it was ok. Mia was dumbfounded. 'I feel like novel is changing' Mia spoke to herself.
Bailey and Roman only stared at the two who looked so awkward. Bailey didn't like the sight of Mia and Dean being awkward like what crushes do. While Roman was dissatisfied with the situation. "Umm... really?" Mia asked with wrinkled eyebrows.
Dean nodded with a smile. "I am really fine. It is not like you did it on purpose anyway. Feel free to talk casually. Let's forget what happened, it will only make you uncomfortable" Mia was stunned. She knew that she did something inappropriate and yet he forgave her.
He was easy going person.
Mia was relieved. She smiled at Dean Silas. "Thanks for understanding me" she grinned as the waiter finally came with dishes which they ordered. They ate the dinner in awkward silence. But Roman would feed his girlfriend gently.
He didn't care about others opinions as if he and his girlfriend only existed. Bailey would glare at her boyfriend for being extra but still she felt happy whenever her boyfriend treated her like a special person who only existed. The couple enjoyed the dinner.
Dean and Mia were silent the whole time. They were awkward. "Ah! I just remembered something" Roman suddenly spoke out loud as Mia startled. Dean looked up at his brother with wrinkled eyebrows. "Miss Mia Grace, I have something to ask"
Dean furrowed his brows in suspicion. What was his brother planning? Bailey tightened her grip on her boyfriend's arm, she was warning him not to ask stupid questions like relationships. She didn't want to make her friend uncomfortable.
Roman smiled as he patted Bailey's hand. "Umm what is that?" Mia questioned with an awkward smile, she was uncomfortable. "Are you free this weekend?" "Huh?" Mia and Dean blinked twice in confusion at the same time.
Why would Roman Silas, his brother ask question like that to Mia Grace? Bailey stared at her boyfriend with doubts. 'If he dare to make my Mia uncomfortable' It was the only thought which was running in Bailey's head. Mia was dumbfounded.
She was thinking about something else.
'I thought he was going to ask me if I am a pervert who likes Dean Silas' Mia sighed to herself. "Yes, why do you ask?" Bailey didn't understand what her boyfriend was planning. "Please attend to my brother's birthday party this week"
It was the moment Dean suddenly choked on the food. "Omg, here water!" Mia panicked as she handed a glass of water to Dean. Bailey quickly grabbed some tissues and gave them to Mia. Roman smiled at his brother's reaction. "So are you coming?"
Mia stared at Roman as if he was a fool. She furrowed her brows as no words came out from her. He was talking like Dean Silas didn't exist. His brother was choking and yet he could still talk with a smirk. "Roman!"
Dean suddenly shouted as Mia startled and turned her head towards Dean who had redness on the cheeks and ears. "What? You are not willing to invite Miss Mia Grace?" Mia furrowed her brows as she stared at Dean. Bailey was quiet the whole time. "N-no! I mean what if she doesn't want to?" Dean spoke.
"Umm, I think I can attend if you invite" Mia said with a small smile. Dean replied with a grin as Roman smirked at his brother. "Wait" Bailey suddenly interrupted the conversation. "There are going to be many businesses men too, right?"
Roman nodded.
"Do you mean that bastard who is also my friend's ex-husband will attend?" Bailey frowned as there were flames in her eyes, more likely to say she looked like a murderess. Mia awkwardly smiled. She silently wished to hear the answer 'no' from Roman Silas.
"It depends on my dear brother" the answer angered Bailey. Bailey turned her head to Dean Silas. She took a deep breath. "Don't. Don't invite my friend then and uninvite me too. I might end up killing him if we met. I hate seeing that asshole face" Bailey confirmed.
Mia grinned at her friend as a smile appeared on Bailey's face when she noticed that her friend, Mia was agreeing with her. Roman sighed. Dean only awkwardly smiled at Bailey. He got chills just by hearing Bailey's serious tone. "I can't do that honestly.
Even if I don't invite him, he can still attend with his friend" Bailey's smile dropped. "Then uninvite me and my Mia!" She furiously spoke. She wouldn't let her friend meet with bastard George Seith. He hurt her one and only friend. How could she let that bastard meet with Mia Grace?
Dean felt like he was about to pass out at the place. "Joy, don't be like that. You have to attend the party! And you too, Miss Mia Grace" Mia flinched when Roman suddenly turned his head to her and spoke as if she would be in trouble if she refused the invitation.
"I am really fine with that"
Dean grinned at Mia's answer. "That's good then. I invite you to my birthday party, Miss Mia Grace" he spoke excitedly as Bailey frowned. Roman only smiled at his brother. "You can call me Mia since you were the one who told me to talk casually"
Mia smiled softly at Dean while he was stunned by her soft smile. The redness started to cover his whole face. He closed his eyes tightly to hold back himself. "What's wrong?" Mia asked worriedly. Bailey was held back by her boyfriend from telling Mia not to attend the birthday party of Dean.
"N-nothing" Dean stuttered as Mia shrugged away her thoughts. "How about you give your phone number to Dean, Miss Mia Grace?" Roman asked with a smile. Bailey glared at her boyfriend. She couldn't believe her own boyfriend, he was being a matchmaker so obviously.
Mia was dumbfounded. "Why?" She questioned back. Dean sighed at his brother. "So that Dean could send you location of the birthday party since we have not decide where the party will be hold" Dean pressed his lips in annoyance. His brother really could find a good excuse.
"I can send her" Bailey suddenly spoke with a stone face. Roman smiled at his girlfriend, he was begging his girlfriend to let Dean had Mia's phone number. "Well, give me your phone then" Mia asked for Dean's phone as Bailey frowned. "No I said I can-" "I am glad to see my brother getting a new friend"
Roman interrupted his girlfriend before she could finish. Dean awkwardly smiled as put out his phone from the pocket of jacket. Mia dialed her phone number and gave it back to Dean. "How do you want me to save your contact?" Dean asked as he gave a small smile at the young woman.
"Just Mia is fine. As you like"
Dean nodded and flashed his deep dimples at Mia as he happily saved the contact in important persons but only he knew about that. Mia was blinded by Dean Silas's deep dimples. 'Shit, this guy is making me miss Henry more' Mia sighed loudly in her mind.
Like that the dinner continued and the night ended.
