Kevin as instructed sets his destination to the 5th floor of the Grim Reapers base. His belongings on his hands, he stares at anything new that catches his eyes like a kid walking around a toy store.
"I'm Kevin Montefalco, I heard Dr. Lianne is inside this room." Kevin stared towards the comms beside the door. After a moment of gazing at awe with all of the equipment the lab has Kevin finally arrived at Dr. Lianne's office.
"Greetings, my beloved rare specimen!" the automatic-door opened and revealed a fairly young-looking woman just as exactly what Kevin saw before except for the blue hue part.
"This...surely I am going to be alright." Kevin hesitates, giving himself a second to think through. "Yes! Greetings to you too, Dr. Lianne.", he greets back while bowing.
"Hahaha, no need to be so tense. Actually, I would like us to have a warm and open relationship. So feel free to get comfortable, R.S." Dr. Lianne's friendly smile relieves Kevin any of his worries. Letting out a sigh of relief, he entered the room and stood in front of the Doctor.
"I am pleased to meet you, Dr. Lianne. I also hope we can have a working relationship." Kevin answered back with a smile.
"Good! Now strip.", enthusiastically, Dr. Lianne stood up from her seat with her face painted with excitement leaving Kevin confused.
"S-strip? You mean just my shirt right?" Kevin tries to save himself. "No! Everything, from top to bottom!" Dr. Lianne casually walked up towards Kevin, her face revealing a smile of comfort.
"Do you want me to th--"
"I-I'll do it myself, thank you very much!", and so Kevin complied and stripped off everything was analyzed thoroughly with the scanner.
Dr. Lianne was analyzing the outputs and writing the results and conclusions. Although her expression shows that of a professional and serious researcher, her eyes glows like a pirate finding their very first rich treasure. After the final scan, Kevin was finally freed for now.
"According to your results, it seems that you can indeed produce Anima energy, although very little. Actually, it be lower than that of a Melee Reaper's output and you still pretty much have the same physical capabilities as a Ranger Reaper." Dr. Lianne informed Kevin, whilst fiddling on her tablet, recording the data.
"I've trust you met Denise earlier? Denise is actually the technique specialist-type, the best of both worlds. But unlike her, you got the worst instead. A new type, I'm actually quite amused to see one for myself if I have to say so." , smiling, Dr. Lianne started working on her report. Kevin was actually quite relieved to hear it, assuming that he was going to be stationed into the lab instead of the frontlines, providing support or data.
"Not only you are of a rare type among the Reapers yet also the rarest among men! Although you have a low Anima and physical capability, your control must've been better than that of Denise. Although that is still a speculation and I hope you've already dressed up, because we're going to the lab."
Already dressed up, Kevin followed Dr. Lianne to the lab whereas they were greeted by a lot of people, researchers in the different fields in the study of Anima and Reapers visiting to maintain their equips.
"We've arrived, in this room we will fully analyze your control. Although exaggerated as it may be to accommodate a full room just to observe the Reapers' control on their Anima...trust me, we've had our fair share of freak accidents."
The room contained a glass panel and a room filled with white walls and devices installed to monitor Anima activity, as well as cameras.
"Enter that room and try to release your Anima energy. As much as possible form a ball."
"W-wait, Dr. Lianne! I don't know how to release it..."
"Ahh, I forgot you never actually got orientated nor received any teachings on using Anima. Well, putting it into Layman's terms try to redirect the chill you feel in your body. Trying to explain it will make it more complicated after all. Kind of...like this.", the doctor reaches out her hand and opened up her palm. Suddenly, the air around her hand gradually swirled around, slowly gaining a pinkish tint before forming like a red ball of flame.
Kevin nodded and tried to feel the chill in his body. At first he felt nothing even after he closes his eyes, yet the longer he concentrates the more of its presence he feels.
"Rather than just a chill...it's more like a flow of air circulating around me. I just need to redirect the flow to my hands." Kevin though had no idea how to do that, slowly and flawlessly was able to hold grasp of the light. Collecting it at his palm, Kevin weaves a ball out of the energy he feels. Visualizing it in his mind. Opening his eyes he then sees Dr. Lianna eager and as focused as him in gathering data.
He waved at the doctor to ask for any further commands.
On Dr. Lianne's side, it was a spectacular moment that a researcher like her must capture. The boy whom she branded as her rare specimen due to his ability to wield Anima without drawbacks turned out to be much special than she had thought.
Before, he was just a man which was subjected to high Anima energy due to an outburst and survived. This of course, is still not a common feat as all men— even with the ability to produce Anima, once get in touch with the energy would cause them to have a reversal awakening, transforming said men into Animus instead of Reapers.
However, not only did Kevin survived that incident and remained human. Now in front of her, is a person with unmistakeably the best control towards Anima. Although smaller compared to what she has created, there weren't any wasted energy even after it has took form compared to her which created a smoke-like presence as her Anima disperses slowly.
With no hesitation, Dr. Lianne already sets up to record the video feed as well as the data observed with the instruments. Carefully looking through every variables as to see any difference aside from just power output.
Dr. Lianne, noticing her subject waving at her she turned on the mic to speak.
"Could keep that shape for about a few minutes? I would also like you to try to bend it into other shapes or maybe something more complex than that!" Her voice cannot contain how pleased she was by the results.
"This is just too spectacular..." she muttered to herself.
She finally found the piece that she was looking for— no, it was better than she could've ever imagined. Realizing this, Dr. Lianne shows a small grin on her face as she think of the possibilities Kevin could offer on her research.
