"Hello, yes, myself. What? !! I'll be right there doc." Karenina immediately put her cellphone into her bag, while leaving her place to earn a fortune as a singer at one of the famous night clubs in Jakarta.
With high speed Karenina sped her car towards a hospital where the mother was being treated. When he got there he immediately ran to his mother's nurse room, there appeared to be several nurses and a doctor who was treating her mother.
"Doctor, how is my mother?" Karenina asked with a panic and anxious face.
"We did our best, Nina. But we couldn't save your mother's life."
Karenina retreated a few steps her head gently shook her head, her tears began to spill out of her lids.
That day he will always remember, the day his mother breathed her last, after so long struggling with her illness.
"Geez Nina !! Is this a house or a cow shed? It's really messy, smells again." Sofia, a friend who is always there by her side no matter what the circumstances.
Hearing the screams of her best friend, Karenina only kicks her clothes without bothering with all the trifles of house affairs, since her mother died, Karenina has turned like a living corpse, her house is abandoned and she never even cleaned it. He often sleeps in hotels than sleeping in the house that he bought especially for his mother from his hard work as a singer in cafes and night clubs. All she did was to make her mother happy, especially at that time her mother was seriously ill, and it had to cost a lot of money, with a beautiful face, sexy body and good voice, Karenina accepted an offer from Sofia to work as a singer in a café and night club owned by her best friend. . Just singing Karenina never did any other work apart from that.
Sofia sat next to Karenina who was holding a bottle of vodka and in the other hand she held a cigarette which she occasionally put in her mouth, then played the smoke that came out of her mouth into small dots into the air.
Sofia picked up a match on the table, then lit the cigarette which she pinched between her curved fingers.
"What's wrong with you? So it has changed like this since your mother died."
"Do not know." Karenina replied indifferently, her eyes stared at the complex street in front of her, occasionally she nodded at her neighbor who greeted her.
"How long have you been like this, since when did you become into drinking like this, the Nina I know is Nina who is polite, devoted to her parents, and never drinks like this." Said Sofia, questioning Nina's drastic change.
"My money is useless now, so what for, just make fun of it until I die."
"Watch your mouth! You're really changing, if you don't need money, donate it to your orphans or underprivileged neighbors."
"They are also going to die, want to be full and hungry, it makes no difference, they will all also die, including me, just waiting for the time." Karenina said then took a sip of vodka straight from the bottle.
"You've really changed. It's up to you, I'll be back, don't forget to go to the club for the night you sing."
"Okay."
Sofia immediately got up from her seat and left Karenina's house in the minicooper that her lover had given her.
Karenina took another sip of vodka in her hand, then went into the house, put the rest of the vodka into the refrigerator, grabbed the car key that she touched on the living room table and then left her house after locking the door.
The car driven by Karenina left the housing complex and then drove down the road mingling with other vehicles struggling with the busy road. The car he was driving stopped at the left side of a red light.
His eyes caught a little girl singing beside the car door that stopped right in front of him. But the little girl turned around when a motorcyclist kindly gave her two thousand rupiahs. After receiving the money, the little busker pulled over to the sidewalk because the weather was quite hot.
Karenina returned to light her cigarette then opened the windshield a little to release cigarette smoke. Her eyes were still alert, staring at the little busker, then suddenly there was a woman sitting next to the busker and for some reason the little girl gave the money she had earlier to the mother, then soon there was a small child who complained of hunger to her. the mother because the mother only has two thousand money from the little busker, so the mother gives the money to him. The child with a smile accepts the money, but when he is about to arrive at the food stall not far from the mother, the child hears the midday call to prayer, then the child runs to the mosque and doesn't buy food.
And Karenina frowned when she saw the little boy who was carrying the two thousand bill put the money into the mosque's charity box.
Karenina sighed heavily, then waved the busker girl to get closer to her car.
The little girl ran, Nina hurriedly opened the car door wider and gave the money five hundred thousand to the little girl who approached her.
"Share with your mother." Karenina said to the child, at first the child was confused because the money he received was very much, but he then smiled and immediately accepted it.
"Hopefully your fortune will increase, and blessings, thank you, dear brother." Said the busker girl then went and gave some of the money to the old mothers who had been with her.
The old mother stared at Karenina's car and cupped her hands in front of her face, showing her gratitude. Karenina was only silent and returned to drive her car when the red light turned green.
"Damn, why are so many people still having trouble living in this world. Why are they still being left alive, if only to suffer."
Karenina passed by an orphanage, then saw that beside the orphanage many children were playing ball, and some were playing chasing. For some reason, Karenina's heart was moved to give the money to the orphanage.
Karenina took a long brown envelope in the car drawer and put ten million money into it.
Karenina got out of the car, her head looked right and left observing the surroundings, when things were really quiet, Karenina hurriedly put the envelope in front of the orphanage door, then pressed the bell beside the door. Then because he ran hiding behind his car, which was parked not far from the orphanage.
A middle-aged woman walked out of the door and her eyes stared down at her feet as she sensed an object she was touching. The woman then opened the envelope which was filled with a lot of money, with a piece of paper inside without a name.
The middle-aged woman who turned out to be the owner of the orphanage smiled, then looked right and left but did not find anyone there. Then the woman closed the door of the orphanage again, while Karenina hurried into her car, then drove to a fairly well-known café in Jakarta.
Without realizing it, a pair of eyes watched what he had been doing since earlier at the red light until now in the cafe, the eyes were still alert to stare at the woman who went on stage in sexy clothes and began to sing her song to the accompaniment of the guitar she played.
"You're mine" muttered the man in the black coat with a faint smile on his face.
