On Tuesday, John is in the garden after breakfast. A newspaper has been left on a bench, and he picks it up. He aimlessly flips through. He sees a picture of Helena and looks at it like he knows her. He points a finger at her.
Back at the university:
Aranza is walking from class to go to a friend's hostel room when she sees Aurelio chatting with Anna. She is clearly flirting with him and he is enjoying it. She glares at them both and walks away. Aurelio smiles. Aranza is clearly jealous. She loves him.
Clara and Anna Patricia go to visit Ramon and the three of them discuss relocating to the city. They decide that when Ramon is released, they will move in together. Armando and Luisa also decide to relocate to the city and are making plans from their small town.
Two weeks pass during which Ramon recovers and is released from the hospital. Armando and Luisa and, Clara, Anna Patricia, and Ramon move into houses near where Hector, Gina, and Aurelio live.
Meanwhile, it is approaching the 18th anniversary of Gabriel Montes De Alba's death. Antonio can see that Gina is sad, but she won't tell him what's wrong. He has always had that feeling that she is keeping something big from him. Hector is in a similar mood. What he would give to have had his father alive and to grow up with him. Adrianna too can sense something is up with him. He is sad but he won't open up to her.
Only Clara, Ramon, Armando, Luisa, Martin, and Anna Patricia know the truth. The anniversary is that Friday but because it is a working day, it was pushed to Saturday. That Tuesday night, Aurelio is with his friends outside, and Gina is at Antonio's house. Clara, in typical fashion, drops in unannounced. This time she goes to Hector, Gina, and Aurelio's house. She finds Hector alone.
Meanwhile: Anna Patricia is at home taking care of her father. She asks him where her mother is. He smiles and says her mother is very nosy and is probably poking into the children's lives, but she will be back soon.
Back at Hector's house,
He is surprised she is alone and tells her. Clara waves him away. She tells him that she was on her way home, but decided to drop in and check on them. Hector reminds her that they are not children. Clara says they are not but they are never too old to need her pampering and wise words. Despite himself, he smiles. Clara notices Hector, looks sad, and tells him to sit near her. Clara sits on a sofa, as Hector places his head on her lap.
She asks him what's bothering him. With her, he doesn't need to pretend and act tough. He tells her about his conversation with Aranza the other day. He says it reminded him of what he had missed all these years, to see his little sister grow from the small baby she was the last time he saw her to the beautiful, confident, and intelligent young woman she has now become.
He says he would have loved to be the one she trusts and the one she looks up to, to guide her as she does with Antonio. Hector adds that on top of it all, it is the 18th anniversary of his father's death. He adds that time has not made the wound any less painful. He adds that on top of it all is the possibility that Helena and Carlos murdered his father.
He finishes by saying that he is feeling increasingly guilty about lying to Adrianna, Aranza, and Antonio. He then says he is sorry for burdening her with his problems. Clara waves him away and says that she loves him very much and that she will always be willing to give a listening ear when he needs it. Clara hugs him.
Meanwhile:
Antonio goes to the restroom. They are in the living room having dinner. Gina hears a message. It's a WhatsApp message. She opens the data on her phone to read it. She is shocked at the image. She puts the phone down and prances around. She then remembers what Isabella said in the loo during the launch of the new products at work. She says that Antonio will always be hers. Antonio finds her still prancing. He asks her if anything happened to her grandfather.
She says he is fine, and that her aunt is taking care of him. He comes and asks her why she looks uneasy and annoyed. Antonio tries to touch her but she avoids his touch and says she wants to go home. Antonio asks her what has gone wrong because they were having such a good time. Gina says she will show him. She picks up her phone, shows him the picture where Isabella jumps up and hugs him, and asks him why he did not tell her about it. Antonio inwardly curses Isabella. Why can't she just accept that he doesn't love her and loves Gina instead?
Antonio tells her that there is nothing to say because nothing happened. Gina looks at him like she doesn't believe him. Antonio says it was the Saturday during the team-building exercise and just before he came to get her, Isabella came to his room to cause trouble. He adds that looking at the picture, he can imagine that this was stage-managed by Isabella and Marianna. Antonio says that Isabella recorded the audio and probably did this as well and probably has other devious plans.
Gina seems calmer and he approaches her. He holds her chin and makes her face him. He tells her that he loves her, and would not get involved with Isabella again. He tells her that Isabella has shown she can pull all kinds of crazy antics. He also tells Gina that she should assume that any kind of issue that could negatively affect their relationship is Isabella's plans until proven otherwise. Antonio kisses her and Gina kisses him back with a passion to match his own, as they begin to undress each other.
The next day, a Wednesday Anna Patricia, Armando, and Luisa begin looking for jobs. Hector is at his desk, looking over some work-related information on the internet. Most of his colleagues had not yet arrived. Marianna notices he is alone and uses the opportunity to stir trouble. Hector greets her back. She asks him what he is doing. He tells her. She asks him if she can come and see and he agrees.
They are in a discussion when Adrianna comes in. She looks from Hector to Marianna and back, then turns to leave. Hector picks up his phone and goes after her. Marianna smiles and says that it's only the beginning. Hector catches up with Adrianna and asks to speak with her alone. She seems to think about it but follows him. They get into a store. He can see she's irritated.
He tells her there's nothing to worry about and he was catching up on some latest marketing trends when Marianna came in and asked to see what was happening. Adrianna says she trusts him but doesn't trust Marianna. She says she thinks Marianna is obsessed with him, and that she has been watching her over the past few months. He holds up her chin and says it does not matter because he only loves her, and kisses her.
Meanwhile Antonio's grandparents Juan Patricio and Claudia arrive in the city. As protocol demands Antonio accompanies his father to receive them. Carlos is an only child so Antonio is their only grandson. They are moving to one of their town city residences. Juan Patricio suggests that Antonio come for supper. Antonio does not want to because he had plans with Gina, but cannot come out of it without sounding impolite.
Antonio dreads the dinner. He finds his grandfather cold, rigid, and dictatorial, not warm and full of tales like Ramon. He finds his grandmother shrewish and bitter. Claudia says she would like to meet the special girl who has turned him around. He looks at her surprised. Claudia says she has heard he is dating. Antonio says he will bring her around, another time.
Later when Claudia is in her room and Antonio has left Carlos and Juan Patricio talk. He asks Carlos about how everything is going. Carlos says everything is okay apart from Aranza, who is an heir and a constant reminder of her father. Juan Patricio tells her that they should find a way of containing Aranza once she turns 18. They then discuss their illegal smuggling business.
Later Antonio calls Gina and tells her of the change of plans. She says she understands and it's no problem. Antonio goes to work in the afternoon. He runs into Adrianna and he tells her of the dinner. Adrianna says she pities him because his grandparents are unbearable. Antonio gives her the keys to the house. He says she can return them later.
At the end of the day. Emma leaves with Martin to go to his house, Antonio leaves with Gina to take her home and Adrianna leaves with Hector for Antonio's house.
The dinner is as unbearable as Antonio had feared. It is stiff, formal, awkward, and void of family warmth.
Meanwhile at Antonio's house:
Adrianna and Hector have the perfect romantic night. Their love and passion for each other only grows stronger.
The next day, a Thursday, it is at the mental institution. It is a typical day there. Patients and staff are out and about. John is among 10 of the most difficult cases who are being taken to a different facility for a little while for further tests in a new partnership with a mental health non-governmental organization, to see what can be learnt from them to help others and if more can be done for them.
They are being taken in two ambulances. The first one leaves. John is in the second one. The journey starts normally until they are on the highway. Their tyre bursts. The nurses traveling with them open the door to inspect the situation. The five get out and run away. The nurses and driver try to catch them but fail. The patients think it is a game and run faster. The nurses and driver are stuck on the highway with a spoilt car and 5 mentally unstable people are on the loose. They call for backup.
Sometime later, at Montes de Alba inc,
Gina comes back to their cubicles and finds Emma waiting for her, busy on her phone. ( They are to go together for lunch). Gina asks her what is so interesting. Emma tells her the story about the escaped mental health patients. Gina rolls her eyes and tells Emma that she reads the strangest stories on the internet.
Meanwhile, Isabella is at her desk. She tells herself that it's time to put their plan into place. It has been enough time to let Antonio and Gina think they will remain happy before she ruins their world.
