Sadie groaned and said, "Stop apologizing," She had enough of him apologizing to her and she was close to telling him that she had already forgiven him.
"But I need to explain. You don't have to say anything. Just listen to me. Please…" Elijah begged and Sadie only went silent.
Sadie thought that she didn't need to hear his explanation. But that would leave her wondering, right? So she nods her head.
Elijah takes a deep breath and tightens his arms around her in case she tries to push him away after his confession. "The first time that you got mad at me and threatened to cut off your friendship with me, I was lost. I didn't know what to do. I was not myself. I was mad at you and then I was mad at myself. Then I realized…I am scared. I am scared that I might lose you,"
Sadie's breath hitched because, for some reason, she could feel Elijah's fear.
