Elijah was so eager to see Sadie that he took two steps up the stairs. He felt like talking to Diana lifted his spirits. He doesn't know when he is going to tell Sadie about his feelings. He was not planning, he would just let the perfect opportunity come, and once it did he would take it.
Elijah reached the front of Sadie's bedroom. He raised his hand to knock on the door. He heard a faint voice telling him to come in. He reached for the doorknob, twisted it, and pushed the door open.
Elijah found Sadie lying on the bed. Her blanket is covering her from her toe to her chest. She was staring at the ceiling before she looked in the direction of the door and her eyes widened when she saw him.
Elijah's heart hurt seeing Sadie in that state. Her hair was messy which was understandable since she has been probably lying in the bed since yesterday when he left. Her cheeks were flushed indicating that she has a fever and her eyes could not lie that she is sick.
