The following morning, Sadie felt downcast after that eventful night. After Dylan's confession and her rejection that technically didn't happen because Dylan did not ask her but still felt that it happened because the pain was still there, Sadie doesn't feel like moving.
She just lay there staring blankly at the ceiling of her bedroom.
Last night she barely slept. If sleep took her, it was probably nearing dawn.
Sadie didn't do anything to Dylan and Dylan reassured her of that. But she still hurt him by doing nothing. And it hurts her as well because she cares for him. Dylan is important to her. She loves him as a friend but that's what hurts him. She loves him only as a friend. But he loved her more than that and she cannot reciprocate his feelings. She could only hope that things would stay the same between the two of them because she doesn't want to lose him the way she seems to be losing another man that is important to her.
