Inside the room, Elijah lay on the hospital bed with his upper body raised on a pillow. His ribs were hurting with his every movement so J put a pillow on his back with the help of Jacob.
"Are you okay? Do you want me to get you something to eat?" J asked in a worried tone. It was probably the tenth time she asked Elijah that question ever since he was brought back to that room after they put a cast on his left leg.
But though Elijah was getting sick of the same question over and over again, he cannot bring himself to snap or be rude to his mother. After all, he was the reason why she was acting like that. He put her in that situation. She has been worried about him even days before the race and then the accident. He cannot imagine what her mother felt at that moment.
