An hour later, Elijah was driving away from the city with Sadie sitting in the passenger seat of his sports car. Sadie insisted on taking her own car but Elijah said that it was more convenient if they used one car. He promised to pick up Sadie tomorrow at her house and drive her to the restaurant which made Sadie concede.
The cops, including Megan who came to the restaurant to ask around if they saw Ezio, left the restaurant after getting nothing but statements from the few staff and customers who actually saw him. All they saw was Ezio coming in, ordering food, eating his meal, and then he left. The security footage of the restaurant that Timothy had already manipulated supported the staff and customers' statements.
Of course, the staff already knew not to say that Ezio talked to Sadie. All the time that Ezio was in the restaurant, Sadie was in the kitchen trying out making a dessert. They even offered the cops a sample of the desert.
