"Sir Elijah is here,"
Sadie looked up from her laptop when she heard what the manager said after a knock on her door. She nodded her head once and then closed her laptop. Then she walked out of her office using the door that connects to the kitchen of the restaurant.
The moment she stepped into the kitchen, she was immediately greeted by the bustling sound of the kitchen which has always been like music to her ears. She'll never get tired of the noise in the kitchen.
Sadie went to the corner where she hung her apron earlier. And then she pulled out a new hairnet from a box. She walked toward her station as she was tying the apron to her back.
Cooking for Elijah has been a routine for her. Ever since that night after the incident at the club, Elijah and Sadie finally return to how they used to be. Though they haven't talked about what happened yet, it was as if they had a silent understanding.
