One hour later, Elijah was sprawled on top of a camping blanket in the middle of the clearing a few minutes walk from the vacation house. As it was probably the darkest place in Hellebore and probably in the country, the stars above him could clearly be seen.
Since the weather is cold but not too cold, it was the perfect time to camp overnight and Elijah will not waste the opportunity to have peace. Hopefully, the peace he would find there would clear his mind.
The clearing was surrounded by thick forest and a cliff. Just below the cliff was the lake. The only way to get there was by foot through the forest. It was part of the property of the Parkers. It was surrounded by a tall perimeter fence to maintain its exclusivity. The last thing that they want is for people to find out about the place and for trespassers to ruin its natural beauty and serenity.
