"I'm sorry." Jacob immediately admitted his mistake. He thought that it was better if she didn't know so that she won't worry too much unnecessarily. But he was wrong.
"I was so worried about them! And it turns out that I worry for nothing!"
Jacob shook his head. "I know. I should've told you of my plans. I'm sorry." He apologized again.
"Do you know how I felt? I keep on blaming myself for everything that is happening. It was supposed to be me! Jack Ogden wants me! But I put your family's life at risk! And I am the last one to know of your plans?"
At that moment, all of J's emotions came flooding in at once, anger, fear, and worry. She felt like it was too much for her small heart to take and just needed to spill all of them through tears.
A tear started to roll down her smooth pearly white cheeks. Followed by another one and soon it was a river.
"Honey," Jacob's voice cracked, seeing her like that.
