Chapter 49 - Tempest!! Return to the Stronghold!!

It was late into the morning when Sky had woken up again. He repeated the routine of awkwardly pushing himself out of bed and testing the floor before walking towards the door and going downstairs.

Once down he saw Prometheus dressed up in a black suit with a white tie with Kronos wearing new red and yellow striped pants with a white shirt and red waistcoat. Standing next to them was Bjorn, in god form wearing a sweaty, white tank top, and leaning against the wall next to him was something wrapped in a brown cloth.

"Boy!" Bjorn's loud voice boomed. "I got something for you!"

He grabbed the object and pulled the cloth off it revealing a beautiful silver blade with gold highlights that shone and hummed with life. Along one edge was the clear silver-like material while along the other was a bright golden strip. The sword had a small guard and pommel but a long grip made of a black material that glowed red. The sword fell down to Bjorn's heels and was nearly three quarters the size of Sky.

"A beauty, isn't she?" Bjorn said with a huge grin.

He handled the blade easily, stabbing a little before slicing the air in front. "The blade is mostly made of Adamantine, the strongest metal never able to be handled by humans," He showed the silver side of the sword, "With Indentium highlights." He flipped the blade and showed the golden side.

"The adamantine is excellent for slaying monsters while the Indentium gives the sword the characteristics its owner needs." He flipped the sword showing the grip. "This is made out of Burning Brim Wood, remember how Striker's blade came back to him… well this one will do the same."

He offered the blade to Sky. "Just as Demeter gave you the Greenbells, I give you this, my finest creation, I call it Tempest."

Sky stared at it, hesitant to touch it as he looked at Kronos and Prometheus, both of whom nodded. Slowly he reached out and touched the grip, wrapping his fingers around it.

"GYAH!!" Sky suddenly shouted as an intense burning feeling shot up his arm. His knees buckled as he tried letting go of the blade that had stuck onto his palm.

"HEPHAESTUS!!" Kronos shouted.

"Well, it's gotta recognize him somehow." He said calmly.

"TAKE IT OFF!!!" Kronos' voice cracked.

"I can't, how do you think Striker's blade was able to come to him and him alone, it's a process." Bjorn explained calmly.

"Kronos, did you just have a voice crack!" Prometheus suppressed his laughter.

THUD! The sword fell, grabbing the attention of the others. Slowly the burning stopped and disappeared leaving Sky without any pain or any marks. The hilt that once glowed red, now stopped leaving only the black material. Sky stared at the sword, now humming and almost calling to him. He stood up, keeping his gaze on the blade and opening his hand remembering how Striker had done it.

SLING! The blade flew up into his palm, shifting and morphing as it did so until it now comfortably fit in his hand with the large blade now shrinking so that it fit his frame perfectly.

"Tempest…" Sky murmured, feeling the sword hum as it responded to its name being called.

"How do I… carry it?" Sky asked, not knowing what to do with a sword outside of battle.

"Ah, just put it in your pocket." Bjorn said, waving his hand like it was nothing.

"ShiShiShiShiShi!" Prometheus started laughing again.

"Hephaestus!" Kronos shouted once again.

"The Indentium allows the blade to take on whatever form it's owner needs, try it!" Bjorn explained.

Like instructed, Sky attempted to put the blade in his pocket. As Sky put the tip in, the rest of the body easily followed until it disappeared inside the small, pant pocket. The three of them stared at it in awe and shock.

"Now whenever you need it just pull it out, and it should be there!" Bjorn gave a thumbs up.

"Are we good to leave?" The door suddenly opened as Jennifer walked in.

She was wearing a loose, brown long sleeve t-shirt with black shorts. Her black hair loosely tied into a ponytail with two long strands coming down her face on either side. Sky stared at her in somewhat awe.

"What're you guys doing?" She asked as she looked at the three men staring at Sky's pocket with surprised looks.

"Ahem!" Kronos cleared his throat, "Did you get the bandages?" He asked.

Jennifer held up a brown pouch.

Kronos led Sky upstairs where he changed his bandages, sling and gave him a fresh set of clothes, a blue t-shirt and gray pants before bringing him down again. The wraps around his torso were thinner now though the cast still remained on his right arm.

"Now then, let's set off! Prometheus clapped as he pulled out the travel orb.

"WAIT WAIT!" Bjorn shouted as he shoved his hand into the apron pocket before pulling out another orb.

He walked over and firmly placed it in Sky's hands. "Make sure you give this to that underwater bastard Leeds!"

Sky nodded. Kronos walked over and hugged Bjorn while Prometheus gave him a firm handshake. The two then returned next to Sky and motioned for Jennifer to come closer.

A gray mist started escaping the ball and surrounding the three of them, hiding the surroundings more and more. After a few moments they were nearly covered, a second before Sky was unable to see Bjorn, the God closed his eyes and lowered his head before disappearing behind the wall of gray.

As fast as the clouds had hid their surroundings, they disappeared as well, revealing a dark gray, gloomy sky and the drenched, puddle ridden training grounds from which they had left and the familiar sight of the forest and Hero's Stronghold.

"Ah!" Groaned a voice from nearby, "That was a nice warm-up after being asleep for so long!"
