From the very moment I joined the Future project, problems became my daily routine.
We were getting through malfunctions, accidents and sabotage, but all of these were events everyone heard about and considered something that just could happen.
However, once we reached the New Gaia, the amount of problems, their scale and absurdity levels went over the top.
I went through crash landing, nearly died in a fight against some local monstrosities and managed to avoid another death in alien structure, but the recent events are becoming even crazier than whatever I could have imagined until now.
Buildings and devices we are encountering on this planet rely on the sytems humanity did not focus on, and day after day I was getting more and more surprised and excited by these discoveries. However, just recently I started feeling worried more than anything.
Just before I made this entry, we've lost one of ours after going inside of one particular alien structure. Maybe if we knew more, if we properly investigated and prepared, we could've avoided it...
Sadly, we cannot turn back time and the only thing we can do is to push forward.
However, it's easier said than done. While devices we've found inside that structurewere intriguing, there was no time to examine, and every minute of staying there would make it more likely for someone to die, therefore all we got are mere scans.
In the end, situation stabilized and things calmed down. Or that was what we thought at least. After our return, we decided to take a longer stop in the area and do some additional work on the other parts of the alien structure.
When we were doing that, sudden gunshots echoed, and it turned out another person was killed.
Everyone reacted immediately, and military personnel got outside for support. It turned out though, that there was only one stranger outside, who seemed to have lost his mind which led him to acting crazy and attacking others.
That was our assumption, but we soon were told we were wrong.
Apparently, this man was already dead at the moment of attack. "Dead man walking" can be literally applied here...
Here I thought I've seen enough crazy stuff by now, but this thing proves me wrong yet again, and I cannot help but to feel scared.
If I only stayed home...
