Nancy's POV
It's so huge! Looking at it makes my heart skip, I took a deep breath in and a deep breath out. You can do this Nancy, I told myself several times until I believed it. I have to do this for my parents, I need to get my life in order so I can avenge their death.
I went in, walked straight to the elevator and pressed the button to the 3rd floor, that's were the interviews are held, but the main office is on the 18th floor. Why the interviews are not held on the office floor I wouldn't know. I also read on Facebook when randomly researching that the screening of this company is like writing Bar exam or in a more Nancy term, like choosing a seeker, you know from legend of the seeker.
The beep of the elevator almost gave me a heart attack. I stepped out and wanted to turn right back, I was so nervous and I just got even more nervous with the size of the crowd. How is it that they just want one person for the job and they're more than 20 people seated here. I walked straight to the secretary's table.
"Hello miss, good morning. I'm Nancy and I'm here for the PA job interview.
She looked up at me and made sure to scan the whole of me and replied."Hello. Nancy who"?
"Nancy George" I replied her
"Okay Nancy George, your name has been imputed into this computer, so just sit over there and wait for your turn".
"Okay thank you". I was about ambling to my seat when she said. "Good luck darling, you're going to need it".
I didn't want to ask but I felt compelled and the inquisitive me just had to ask. "What do you mean"?
"Huh". She acted confused
I shook my head and and replied her. "You said you're going need it, so what do you mean"?
"Oh that. It's just, it's the CMD himself that's doing the interview, he's tired of letting the HR department handle it because he keeps firing them for incompetency, so you know how it's gonna go. God luck again".
I gave a half smile and walked away. What sort of a person is she? I wondered. She wasted no time telling me I didn't stand a chance, it's like she enjoyed it even. We waited for about 20minutes and at exactly 11am the interview started. As the last person in line, this day was about to be a long one
It was just one person left before I get to walk into that office. The waiting line went down so fast, some people came out of the office crying, like one girl, I wonder what he must've said to her to make breakdown like a complete baby, while one dude came out screaming he was going to sue the company. I panned out of my mind wandering when office door opened and the applicant came out, he walked to the seating arrangement to get his bag, on his way out I held his arm and asked "how was the interview"?. He looked at me with furry at first but immediately had the eyes of a fairy and responded. " The guy is a complete douche bag, but good luck anyways".
It took the lady not more than 30 seconds before she walked out and I had to go in. Come on Nancy, you can do this, you have to for dad and mom.
I walked into the office nervous as hell but immediately became irritated, my interviewer was on a phone call not minding if I was there or not. The phone call continued for more than 2minutes, that's more time than most applicants spent in this office.
After some time he asked me to sit, I obliged, I was already tired from the waiting and standing. I bent my head downwards and said a silent praying, I really needed this.
"Okay Miss Nancy, sorry for keeping you waiting". He said turning his revolving chair around to my direction.
"No problem sir". I replied whilst lifting my head and man I did not believe what I saw.
"You"! We said it together.
