The rain fell on the wet soil as the atmosphere grew solemn. A week had past after we invaded the warehouse in West Monkeria. The whole army was circled around a monument to pay respect to the fallen soldier Horanesse. General Harolds usually cheerful mood was destroyed by these events, he stood still in the rain as his clothes were soaked and his facial expression was completely blank. I would try go over to him to comfort him but i figured that it would be best to stay silent. We were dismissed from the tribute and everyone leaved except people close to Horanesse and me, so i thought this would be a good time to talk to Harold. "Im sorry for your loss General, She will be missed" Im not sure whether that was to basic and cliché or not. "Ever since my wife died i didnt really want to get close to many people just in case i lose anyone close to me again, but i regret it now, maybe if i told her how i feel we couldve grown stronger together and we couldve won against the Gorilla... Young Monke, always shoot your shot" He said solemnly. I feel bad for him, he lost his wife and now the person who matters to him the most. I nodded at Harold and i left him alone, i had business to attend to.
I was surrounded by cold cinder blocks and metal bars. I was in the East Monkeria War Criminal Prison, Ash was sent here as an injured prisoner and was in the medical section used for wounded war criminals. As i wandered down the seemingly endless depressing halls i found the place i was supposed to be "Medical ward" Was written in large letters on the door, so i made my way through. "Are you Orion?" A mysterious dark haired woman said to me. "Yes, im here to see the prisoner sent here a week ago" I replied. She nodded and gestured to follow her. After walking past stained hospital beds with curtains that have been bleached over time we arrived at a room used for special prisoners. As i went inside Ash was there sitting on a hospital bed receiving an injection from two heavily armoured nurses.. The woman who greeted me stood forward and spoke to him "Hello Ashmon Nomkiman, my name is Genista Howla and since your wound has healed we would like to ask some questions" She said professionally. I noticed that she was a part of east genesis aswell as she had a patch on her shoulder. She must be part of the investigation division that specialises in detective work and theyre good at it. "I'll answer anything you ask at an extent" Said Ash as he looked at my blankly. I stood forward to ask a question myself "what is the science behind your transformation and how did you do it?" As i asked the question he looked down at scar on his arm, which was one of the only parts of him that wasnt covered in bandages, and said "The technology behind it comes from fossils. The liquid i used to turn myself into that form contains small amounts of fossilised gorilla brain fluid extracted from the bones found in the ground. The formula has a few mixed in chemicals used to clone the fluid as there's not much in the bones". Genista started noting down a few things he said before saying "Can you only use this form by injecting yourself everytime you want to transform or can you do it as you please once you have injected yourself one time". The room suddenly became silent as Ash looked up and said "I dont know that one actually". I was thinking of another question i could ask before Ash stood up. "I could show you how to extract it if you let me out, its been a week since ive seen the sky" Ash suggested. It seemed he was desperate to get out of this depressing cell. "That would be useful but not just now we still have questions" Genista said, slightly irritated "Now sit back down". Genista started asking another question but my brain cut it out as an urge came across me. Genista and Ash were in mid conversation but i needed to say this immediately. "WHY DID YOU BETRAY US?!" I blurted out. Genista looked at me with an agitated face and Ash looked at me with a guilty face. "I didnt want to, but i did at the same time, they offered me so much to be a test subject, that book i was reading in the hall that time wasnt Horanesse's diary, It was full of notes an research about my experiences in that form. They offered me money, security and power and i was going to send some of the money to you but i shouldve expected you would outsmart me, as always, please forg-" Ash explained before getting cut of by Genista. "Excuse me Orion could you please leave this too me, sorry its just a waste of your time as its a one man job". It was understandable why she wanted me to leave after i interrupted her, but i wanted to hear his answers.
A day had passed after the interrogation and Ash was shackled to two armoured soldiers as he tried to help us find Gorilla fossils. He said this area was a good place to try find them as he claimed some of these ruins you could find in the ground were fragments of the gorilla empire that fell around 2000 years ago. The area was also just like a flat field, except instead of grass its just this brown stone that was probably extremely dried dirt, as this area was very hot. Some of the stones you could find on the ground were parts of this ancient civilisation, so i decided to look at them. Most of them were just grey smooth stone with patterns on them but i found one with a mural on. It looks like a battlefield between two species. One species on the left were the gorillas, and on the right was something very cryptic. It seemed like its another ancient species, another type of ape, except these guys were tail-less and tall. The mural wasnt detailed so i couldnt make out any other unique features, but they werent anything i knew of. I put the stone in my bag and caught up to the excavation team. As i got closer to Ash and now that his head wasnt covered in bandages i noticed that he had circular scars on his head and on his temples. I figured these scars are from the tendrils that connected to the gorilla, perhaps once their connection to the gorilla is ruptured the just fall off. It made me think of when Ash said he wasnt certain of whether he could turn back into the gorilla as he wishes. He did inject himself with a green fluid, suggesting that he needs to inject himself everytime, but i had to investigate since if he could control this he could turn on us again. He has answered everything we asked but i needed to make sure he wont harm us again. "Hey Genista, can you do me a favour?" I asked. "And what will that be?" She questioned. "Can you ask Ash what colour the fluid used to transform into the gorilla is?" Said I. Genista nodded and headed over to Ash. I moved closer as she asked the question and i heard ash say "The fluid is blue once its been completed" I knew it, The fluid he injected himself with was a murky green. This didnt confirm my theory but i knew he knew an answer to that question that he doesnt want us to know, as hes definitely been in that form before. I decided to confront him about it. "Ash, what was that green liquid you injected yourself with at the warehouse?" I asked. He looked at me suspiciously. "that was the serum obviously" He answered. I knew it, he was lying about something. "But you just said the fluid was blue" I said, eager for a response. "You got me, the green liquid was a cover up, it was just a pain killer used to make you think that was the serum. Why must you outsmart me?" He admitted. I looked down the hole they were digging and they found something, it looked like bones. "Congrats, you found some!" Ash shouted. The bones were huge and encased in stone. It will take awhile to get it out but its gonna be worth it. "Great! Thank Ash now you can go back to your cell for more questions-" Genista tried to say before getting interrupted. "This will take forever, ill help" Ash said before he broke off the shackles and put his hands in the air. Suddenly his scars from the tendrils reopened and the tendrils reformed. Was he transforming again? This time he had a new pair of tendrils, coming from his ears. It seems he can edit his gorilla form, which is probably how he gained so many new abilities when we fought. Some soldiers shot their crossbows at his legs but the crystal had already started forming and the crystal started glowing in a bright blue light. Once the light faded i saw it, his gorilla form once again. But this time it was bigger, and looked lots stronger...
