From what Corey park said, using a martial arts card was more lucrative than using a skill card. Because the increase in the mastery of martial arts cards was akin to upgrading the martial arts card to a higher rank, the same was not possible for Skill cards.
Still, not everyone can break past the mastery mentioned in the card. To achieve that, a lot of hard work and dedication are required. Therefore, despite this incredible perk of martial arts cards, they are not popular among card apprentices.
