Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Later that night, right before Zitta and I went to sleep, a maid suddenly knocked on my door. I told Zitta to hide herself.

*(Open)

"Is there anything wrong at this hour?"

"I am really sorry for this disturbance, My Lady. But, a person named Lavani insisted on meeting you. I have already told her to wait in the guest room. Should I tell her to leave, My Lady?"

I think that she needed to ask something from me. Perhaps about her parents.

"No, It's alright. I will greet her later. Tell her to wait for a bit" I said.

*(Bow)

"Understood, My Lady"

The maid bowed, then left.

.

.

.

"Is it that Lavani again? Are you sure you want to leave me behind for that girl? I'm already naked here, you know?"

She's mad now,

"Stop phrasing your words as if I'm going to cheat on you. It's concerning her parents, or…something about her sword. I'll answer her questions and hurriedly come back. I promise you I'll play you roughly like you always wanted. Sounds good?" I asked, showing her my tie.

She froze for a while, and then answered me.

"...you better not go back on your own words. Or I'll ignore you for a whole week"

That was the most terrifying threat I've ever heard since I arrived in this world.

"I won't, okay? Wait for me, honey~"

As I opened the door, Lavani was already sitting on the sofa with her legs crossed.

"Yes, I know I was at fault here. I see that the sword already took half of your mana. I forgot to explain it to you. So, here, I brought you a mana stone"

I took a red colored mana stone from my inventory and gave it to Lavani.

"...are you serious, right now? You know that this mana stone costs almost a thousand gold per stone, right?

So that was what she worried about.

"Don't worry about that. This was on me. I got that when I'm on my training inside the dungeon"

Though she was hesitant to accept my gift, she had no choice if she wanted to recover her mana to how it was before.

*(Break)

She crushed the mana stone and started absorbing the mana. I can feel that the mana was completely absorbed by her.

"Well then, I'm sure your business is done with me. I will take my leave now. If you want to stay for a night, just tell the maids that were guarding this room"

*(Vwooosh)

I then left the room in a flash. Lavani just stood there confused on what to do after I spoke with her. A maid then came in.

"What is your decision, Miss Lavani? Do you want to stay for a night? I will show you the room if you want to"

"A-ah…yeah, I'll stay. Please, show me the way"

"Please, you don't need to speak formally to me, Miss Lavani. I hope you will follow me, please"

As she walks towards her room, she's becoming more amazed by how the maids guard every corner of this place.

"Is there even an unguarded place in this mansion? Their position makes it look like that even an amateur can feel they can barge in. But, from my perspective, this mansion was the most dangerous one I've ever seen"

The maid laughed a little hearing that.

"Fufufu...it's all thanks to My Lady. We doubted it at first, but once My Lady explained the

method to us, we realized how much we were lacking. If I may, I suggest that Miss Lavani should tell anything about your worries to Lady Denallie and asks for her advice. I'm sure it will helps you a lot"

Lavani didn't respond to her. Yet, the maid knew exactly that Lavani already took her suggestion.

When I returned to my room, Yozita had already worn her clothes back.

"What? I'm back early, yes? You don't want to spend a night with me?" I asked, pulled her to my embrace.

"I'm so eager to be devoured by you right now, but duty calls. Her Highness called me to come back. Oh by the way, what happened with the tournament? I'm so busy cleaning up the mess that I haven't heard anything about it"

"That? A messenger just arrived two days ago to my mansion saying that every participant was rewarded with a bunch of gold according to their performances during the tournament. I've donated all of it to my orphanage, though"

Yozita was staring at me weirdly.

"Which one?"

"What?"

"The orphanage"

"Of course, my orphanage. I already told you earlier"

"You mean 'that' orphanage?"

"How rude"

Yozita then sighs.

"Fine. It was up to you anyway. I'll take my leave now. Don't you dare picking another wife behind me again"

After saying that, she left in a flash leaving no traces.

"She's mad as hell…"

Morning….

A messenger from the palace arrived. She was sent by Dineshcara's order.

"Good Morning to you, Lady Denallie Nayanika Isvara. I have arrived delivering the message from Your Highness, Princess Dineshcara Elakshi von Ludwic"

"Good morning to you too, good sir"

.

.

.

.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Lady Denallie Nayanika Isvara. I will excuse myself now"

*(Step step)

After the messenger left, I read the letter. It's not a formal noble-like letter, but a friendlier one. She asked me to come to the palace to discuss some things regarding her return to the academy.

"Well then, Hansa"

"Your order, My Lady"

"After my departure, check the first orphanage. Dipha said there's some fools trying to mess with them. Neatly"

"As you wish, My Lady"

*(Vanish)

Now, as for Lavani…

"Maid"

*(Appeared)

"Your command, My Lady"

"Escort Lavani to the third orphanage. Tell her to help out some things there. You may leave now"

"Understood"

*(Vanish)

After the maid left, I prepared myself for a bit.

"Everything is ready, My Lady" said the butler.

Though, it is a hassle to ride a carriage to the palace, I can't help but endure it to not tarnish my family's name.

"Let's go"

Thank God I casted some spell to make me comfortable in this bumpy transportation. Hm, I should talk to Becca and discuss this spell used on her carriages. I'll bring up the talk about creating an airship too, I guess.

.

.

.

.

Just like that, I arrived at Dinesh's place. As the guards opened the gate for me, a maid was already there to escort me.

"Welcome, Lady Denallie Nayanika Isvara. Her Highness is waiting for you at the training ground"

"Thank You, Cassandra"

*(Startled)

"E-excuse me?"

"Your name. Cassandra, no?"

Is it really that surprising that I knew her name?

"Y-yes, my name is Cassandra. I never thought that you will remember the name of someone like me"

"Why? You're a living being too, so of course I have to remember your name. Don't tell me that such a primitive perspective was shown by the nobles you've encountered so far. I always knew that. Be proud, for you are one of the Princess Dineshcara's loyal peoples''

"....thank you very much, My Lady"

I will have Dipha to investigate this further.

.

.

.

.

*(Step step)

"Welcome, Lady Denallie. Also, thank you, Cassandra"

She bowed, then left the training ground.

"I'm sorry to call you here so suddenly, Lady Denallie" said Dinesh, wiping her sweat.

"It's okay. You have some things to discuss with me, correct?"

"Yes. Please, teach me how to control mana like you"

Like me?

"I see. You want to make something like a grand change, hm? I don't mind"

"Thank y-"

"But, I hope that you won't tell about what I'm about to teach you to anyone just yet"

Dinesh is a little bit confused.

"Of course. I won't tell anyone even if they asked me to!"

"Good"

*(Shine)

I casted a barrier so there won't be any fools that try to eavesdrop on this conversation.

"Is it dangerous?"

"Very. Because, every words coming out of my mouth after this is considered a taboo for the Magic Tower"

"...please, continue"

Eyes full of determination. I like that. I always like those eyes.

"Do you know, that mana is categorized into two?"

"Yes, Pure Mana, produced from our core, and Impure Mana, produced by the demons"

"That is, in fact, a false knowledge"

"What?!"

"I'll explain it. Please, listen carefully"

In this world, there are actually three kinds of mana. Inner Mana, Pure Mana, and Foul Mana. Inner Mana is produced by one's core, but the purity is not even close to half of the pure one. The Magic Tower intentionally hid this fact because they don't want to lose face. Next, Pure Mana, produced by the world itself. The purity is no joke, the purest. This mana is affected by nature, but can't affect nature itself. Lastly, the Foul Mana, indeed produced by the demons, more accurately, demon's mana core. This mana affects nature, and can't be affected by anything, other than the Pure Mana itself.

"How…how do you know about this?"

"It's still a secret, okay? For now, I'll show you something interesting first"

The only thing that can make demons also humans, especially mages, struggling to avoid it.
