Chapter 207 - And... He's Gone

"Let's change locations." [Lapis]

Was all that was said before our surroundings shifted. It appeared that Lapis had teleported us to a desert that had a very distinct feature.

"...Black sand?" [Solace]

"NOOO!!! My dragon meat…! Where did it go?!" [Leon]

Ignoring that, I feel like I've heard about something similar on Earth. It was just surreal to see in person.

"...The bloodied sands." [Wilharrow]

"What?" [Solace]

"That's where we are. The sands turned black from the amount of blood in it." [Wilharrow]

"Shouldn't it be red?" [Solace]

"The blood dried." [Wilharrow]

Makes sense I guess. Besides the little lore drop, Lapis remained floating as she faced Jukhan.

"Jukhan. Don't think your blessings will allow you to defeat me." [Lapis]

"Hmph. Do you take me for a fool? You're at a disadvantage." [Jukhan]

"I have a magic tower." [Lapis]

"I have immunity to magic." [Jukhan]

("He does?") [Solace]

Then why did he block Lapis' magic? Actually how did she use teleportation magic on him?

"It doesn't work for physical manifestations. What if I command my tower to pellet you with cannon balls?" [Lapis]

"Are you assuming that I would be felled by mere balls of iron?" [Jukhan]

"I'm assuming that you don't want to spend at least four hours fighting me. Unless you want me to call Vincent or the Sword King." [Lapis]

Jukhan grinned.

"I never did get that chance to face Cor Sanguis." [Jukhan]

Lapis rolled her eyes.

"These battle crazed idiots…" [Lapis]

After sighing, Lapis aimed her staff at Jukhan.

"Have it your way." [Lapis]

The sand beneath Jukhan began to swirl, causing him to slowly get sucked in.

"Chantless casting? You're getting serious." [Jukhan]

He aimed a finger at Lapis and pointed down.

"|Flashing Thunder|." [Jukhan]

A white bolt of lightning dropped down on Lapis, interrupting her spell. Good thing that some kind of transparent dome appeared around her to block the lightning though.

"Break them, Syvan." [Jukhan]

He took the opportunity to summon his black armored spirit. Last time I saw it, an entire valley was demolished.

"Warning: You are in the presence of an Arch-Spirit. It is highly recommended to retreat." [Spirit Guide]

I kind of expected that.

"|Invoke Exto|." [Jukhan]

He turned his spirit into armor that covered only his arms. With that, he spammed the crap out of gravity balls.

"Die!" [Jukhan]

Facing several black orbs launching themselves towards her, Lapis spun her staff.

"I'll pass on that." [Lapis]

A portal appeared before her, allowing all the orbs to pass through harmlessly. Moments later, I saw parts of the desert explode in the distance.

("...Did she just send them a few miles away or something?") [Solace]

It also appeared that Lapis was continuing to use chantless casting.

"|Grasp|." [Jukhan]

That skill did NOT do what it was called. You'd expect him to grab something, but all it did was allow him to fly. Well, it did make him fly pretty damn fast. He darted around Lapis at high speeds, looking for an opening.

"|Double Dance|." [Jukhan]

A second version of him appeared, which kind of reminded me of how Leon multiplied herself in our tournament fight.

"|Cascading Onslaught|." [Jukhan]

He and his clone dropped down on Lapis, attacking with speed, power, and great ferocity. Lapis' transparent dome shattered on impact, forcing her to retreat while firing off balls of fire. Unsurprisingly, the fire dissipated against Jukhan's skin.

"That magic immunity is a hindrance…!" [Lapis]

"|Triple Dance|!" [Jukhan]

He summoned another clone behind Lapis, cutting off her escape.

"Magic Tower! Initialize combat mode! Target anything approaching me!" [Lapis]

The magic tower revved to life, revealing a metric fuck ton of cannons sticking out of it. The barrels lit up blue and fired cannonballs with strange marks engraved on them.

"It's futile!" [Jukhan]

Paying no heed to the cannonballs, he and his clones were blasted into the ground.

"Urgh!" [Jukhan]

The clones vanished from the attack and Jukhan had several cannonballs laying on him. He looked surprised that it hurt.

"What? How?" [Jukhan]

He picked up one of the cannonballs before recognizing the engravings.

"Enchanted Iron-!" [Jukhan]

Is what he said before it exploded in his face. A big blue flame covered the area, probably roasting Jukhan alive.

"You damn sorceress!" [Jukhan]

He roared with rage, blowing away all the flames with his voice. From what I could see, he was battered and burned in several places. Though, I feel like he was slowly healing. Was it my imagination?

"...Vincent told me you were durable. I didn't think you were THAT durable." [Lapis]

Jukhan stared at her with a fire in his eyes.

"Hm. I just shot you with 4.3 million Mel worth of firepower. That was an expensive loss for you to just NOT die, isn't it?" [Lapis]

"..." [Jukhan]

I guess he just didn't feel like talking with her anymore. He was just seething. So much so that there wasn't even a word spoken before he flew straight at her. The magic tower fired more cannonballs, but he was now aware of its power. With speed and dexterity he evaded them mid-flight.

"Oh my." [Lapis]

Within seconds, he was already in front of Lapis.

"We're not doing this again." [Lapis]

As Jukhan threw a fist, Lapis tossed a crystal that connected with it. Within an instant, Jukhan vanished.

"There we go." [Lapis]

With one snap, we all returned to the cave.

"What the…? What just happened?" [Solace]

"I tossed an unstable reality crystal. Jukhan broke it and it transferred him to who knows where. The good part is that it isn't magic, so it works on him." [Lapis]

She had a devilish smile on her. Women are scary.
