Chapter 117 - All For Naught

The fight started as soon as the lightning cage vanished. Jukhan and Master rushed towards each other, both landing a solid punch to each other's face.

"Ngh!" [Vincent]

"Tsk!" [Jukhan]

Pushing off against each other, the two backed away and struck once again. This time, their fists were colliding.

"Woah!" [Nakros]

Crimson and violet lightning surged around their fists, causing sparks to lash out around them.

"|Charged Impact|!" [Jukhan]

His fist bolstered in power, forcing Master to recoil backwards. Jukhan then took the opportunity to create some kind of black energy ball within the palm of his hand.

("What's that?") [Solace]

Jukhan's gauntlets rippled with energy as the ball formed, sucking in crimson lightning as it grew.

"|Graviton|." [Jukhan]

Jukhan punched the black ball towards Master, allowing it to suck in any objects and pave a path of destruction as it zoomed by.

"|Heavy Step|!" [Vincent]

Stomping on the ground, he forced the earth to come up as his shield. However, the black ball tore through it.

"|Wind Arts: Gentle Breeze|!" [Vincent]

I heard the whistling of the wind as Master moved his hands. It made it possible for Master to deflect the ball to the side, but it also took his monocle with it.

"Your spirit's power is an annoyance." [Vincent]

"This is only the beginning." [Jukhan]

He then took a pose that was kind of like a semi-squat. Jukhan spread out his hands as if welcoming a challenge and let out a thunderous war cry. If I wanted to describe it, it was kind of like one of those poses a sumo wrestler does before battling.

"|Burning Tribulation|!" [Jukhan]

Dark clouds roamed above, sending out massive bolts of lightning. It was white like before, but the bolts were thrown out like a storm instead of a single strike.

"Junior! Get down!" [Nakros]

Nakros forced my head down as the barrier shattered against the lightning's might.

"|Aqua Barrier|!" [Nakros]

Reacting quickly, he formed another protective dome around us.

"|Strengthen|! |Reinforce|! |Stabilize|! |Solidify|! |Compress|!" [Nakros]

A bunch of effects were applied to the dome, making it barely able to stand against the storm.

"...This is similar to a spirit field." [Vincent]

He looked around as the storm turned the valley into charcoal. It was so destructive that it was even capable of tearing the ground apart.

"You're not getting out of this place unscathed." [Jukhan]

So he said as another bolt struck him. The energy seemed to get sucked into Jukhan's tattoo, creating more crimson lightning.

"|Gravitae|." [Jukhan]

Hearing that, Master immediately grounded himself as he felt an unknown force pull him.

"|Steel Body|!" [Vincent]

Master's feet sank into the ground, but the pull was too great. The ground tore apart as Master slowly slid towards Jukhan.

"...That's unfortunate." [Vincent]

Seeing as his |Steel Body| wasn't working, Master allowed himself to get pulled.

"|One Strike|." [Jukhan]

He lunged forward as Master flew towards at high speed.

"|Dark-Light Arts: Total Reversal|." [Vincent]

Master raised a hand against Jukhan's raised fist, absorbing the attack and returning it with his own.

"Urgh!" [Jukhan]

Master's fist struck from under Jukhan's chin, causing him to reel backwards. Or so I thought until he did a backflip into a kick to Master's stomach.

"Guh!" [Vincent]

Master grabbed his leg in order to lock him down.

"If you want my leg so much, I'll trade it with yours!" [Jukhan]

Lifting himself up, Jukhan kicked Master's left knee hard enough to bend it backwards.

"Argh!" [Master]

A nasty crunch echoed as Master's leg became useless. He lurched forward in pain as Jukhan slipped out of his grasp.

"You've lost." [Jukhan]

Raising both his fists, red lightning and black energy surrounded his arms.

"|Ju-Khan|!" [Jukhan]

Crying out his own name, he slammed his fists down on Master. An incredible force fell down on him, until my vision went blurry.

("Huh?!") [Solace]

The world spun around me, or was it me spinning? It took me a few seconds to grasp it, but I quickly realized that I was in the sky.

("What's going on?!") [Solace]

I was left speechless at what I saw. I was floating high above the valley, or rather, what was left of it. Jukhan's attack had obliterated the area. The pieces of what it once was floated in the sky, including the land Nakros and I stood on.

("Where's Master?!") [Solace]

I was worried since Master had taken the brunt force of it. I glanced around anxiously, until I saw two flashes of light clashing.

"Why won't you die?!" [Jukhan]

I could see Master still fighting with a leg flailing in the wind. The two would use floating rocks as support, lunging at each other like there was no tomorrow.

"Only I can choose where I fall!" [Vincent]

"That's sophistry!" [Jukhan]

Screaming his lungs out, he took a blow to the gut in exchange for grabbing Master by the collar. Jukhan then spun around, throwing Master into a floating chunk of mountain.

"Agh!" [Vincent]

"|Divine Descent|!" [Jukhan]

Jukhan sped towards Master in an instant; striking Master and blasting straight through the mountain.

"Urgh!" [Master]

With injuries built up, Masters' arm bent strangely and another crunch resounded. He lay embedded into the side of another floating rock as Jukhan stood before him.

"...There's something wrong with this." [Jukhan]

Master gave him a pained grin.

"Whatever do you mean?" [Vincent]

Jukhan then grabbed Master's limp arm, ripping it off his torso.

"Argh!" [Master]

Jukhan inspected the arm as if there was something weird about it.

"|Dispel|." [Jukhan]

The arm flickered, revealing a wooden puppet arm.

"What…?" [Jukhan]

Looking at Master, Jukhan casted |Dispel| on him. This made Master's appearance vanish, leaving only a wooden puppet.

"You… You're not even here?!" [Jukhan]

He was suddenly filled with rage, causing him to throw down the wooden arm.

The wooden puppet made the sound of chuckle and nodded.

"I suppose this is what they call "the cat getting out of the bag"?" [Vincent]
