I took a moment's rest before continuing.
("I wonder how many levels I got after killing that giant? Let's check.") [Solace]

("...Wow.") [Solace]
Overall, I gained twenty two levels.
("...I'm somewhat disappointed since I just beat something a little over double my level.") [Solace]
I kind of expected something a little more, but I'll take what I can get.
("...I guess that's enough resting.") [Solace]
I faced the stone giant's corpse blocking the mine entrance and sighed.
("That's really unfortunate.") [Solace]
Seeing as the stone giant was composed of rocks, it appeared to have disassembled itself into a pile. That means I have to move rock by rock.
("Do I have any skills to deal with this?") [Solace]
I looked through my skills, but there wasn't much I could find. The only idea I could get was using explosive arts to blow everything away.
("...Do I risk turning them into smaller rocks? There's a chance they'll just fall back into the hole and make it harder.") [Solace]
I pondered for a second.
("Hm…") [Solace]
After a literal second passed, I gave up.
("Screw it. Sitting here won't do anything.") [Solace]
Approaching the pile, I readied myself.
"|Explosive Arts|!" [Solace]
I struck the pile of rocks, causing an explosion that sent rubble flying in all directions.
("...Huh. It worked.") [Solace]
Is what I thought until I saw residual pebbles slowly moving to the hole. What did I do after that? Hit it again.
"|Explosive Arts|!" [Solace]
Repeating it once more, I widened the opening. Unfortunately, a bit more pebbles were getting pulled in from gravity.
"|Explosive Arts|! |Explosive Arts|!" [Solace]
Using my skills a bit more, I finally blew away the rest of the rocks.
"Phew… There we go." [Solace]
Breathing a sigh of relief, I entered the mine.
("|Night Vision|.") [Solace]
The mine was quite dark so I made sure I could see.
("This place looks quite… old?") [Solace]
There were cobwebs that covered the walls. The torches originally placed seemed to have burnt out ages ago seeing as they were complete ash in their holders. Other than that, the mines just looked desolate.
("What's this?") [Solace]
I saw many holes in the walls. I assumed they were either empty sockets that used to have ores within, or… giant bug dens? I really hoped it wasn't the second case.
I attempted to peer into one, but immediately backed away the moment I saw a tarantula looking thing staring back at me.
("Nope! Nope nope nope!" ) [Solace]
That was the exact moment I decided to leave. Unfortunately, that was when I heard a loud crash further into the mines. It was accompanied with a loud screech that was quickly silenced.
("...Is this a horror movie?") [Solace]
I wished to leave as soon as I could. However, I remembered that Master told me to investigate thoroughly. …I think.
("Knowing Master, I wouldn't be surprised if he was watching me somehow.") [Solace]
Not risking the matter, I quietly headed to where the noise came from.
("Please don't be a giant monster. I will literally pray to any god for this.") [Solace]
Traveling further and further down the mineshaft, I found myself entering a larger area as the walls quickly widened as I traversed.
("Moment of truth…") [Solace]
Glancing around, I was horrified.
("Aw hell naw!") [Solace]
There it was. A giant spider. I was frightened at first since it seemed to be staring at me, but I quickly realized there was a gaping hole in its stomach. I almost forgot to mention that most of its legs were torn off too.
("...Did something just kill it? Was this thing that screeched?") [Solace]
Fear began setting in. The spider was enormous so that was understandable. By enormous, I'd say it was the size of a car.
("...Do I keep going? Wait, is it still here?!") [Solace]
With that in mind, I hastily scanned the room.
("There's something there!") [Solace]
Locking on to a figure in the middle of the room, I noticed there was a familiar face.
"...Nakros?!" [Solace]
There stood my senior disciple, who was just staring at the spider's corpse.
"Hm? Junior disciple?!" [Nakros]
Looking at me with surprise, a smile appeared on his face.
"It's good to see you again! What brings you here?" [Nakros]
"That's what I should be asking!" [Solace]
