Chapter 89 - Listen To Me!

Standing in the middle of a meadow, I was just baffled.

("Where in the kentucky fried fuck am I?!") [Solace]

It was one thing that I was lost, but there was another problem. I was hangry. …For those who don't know, it means I'm hungry and angry.

("Not only did I get my ass beat, I didn't have a single meal in a while.") [Solace]

All I had before was a bunch of poisoned berries. Sadly, it wasn't enough.

("Alright, I give up.") [Solace]

"Dispel |Mimic|." [Solace]

I returned to my spirit form and flew upwards.

("Let's see where I am.") [Solace]

Scanning my surroundings, I didn't find anything noteworthy.

("How far did I go?") [Solace]

I tried flying higher, but I didn't see anything other than mountains.

("...How about I try flying in one direction?") [Solace]

At this point, I would say I'm an idiot for not checking the map. However, I could recall there not being a meadow on it.

"Alert: Elevated levels of mana have been detected in the area." [Spirit Guide]

("What? Is Jukhan here?!") [Solace]

I started flying faster in a panic. I was not about to get killed today.

("Please don't see me- Ow!") [Solace]

I bumped into something while flying. Without even thinking about it, I started pleading for my life with my eyes closed.

"Please don't kill me!" [Solace]

There was no reply.

"...Huh?" [Solace]

Opening my eyes, I saw only the clear blue skies.

"Was it my imagination?" [Solace]

Still cautious, I moved slowly. Within an instant, I found myself touching an invisible object in front of me.

("The hell is this?") [Solace]

I moved my hand up and down, as if I was searching for something.

("It feels like… a wall?") [Solace]

I then heard something make whirring sounds, similar to a machine. The next moment, a stone wall appeared before me.

("Oh that's pretty cool.") [Solace]

Is what I thought until the wall opened up and threw black ropes around me.

("Ayo?!") [Solace]

I struggled to release myself. Surprisingly, the rope felt as hard as iron.

("I can't get it off!") [Solace]

The ropes began to pull me in as I tried to take them off.

("Enchant flame!") [Solace]

I set myself ablaze thinking it would burn the rope. Contrary to my expectations, the ropes actually absorbed the flames and seemed to only get stronger.

("...Well, shit.") [Solace]

At that point, I just gave up. I was taken into pitch black darkness with strange sounds going on around me. Moments later, I saw a light.

("Agh! My eyes!") [Solace]

Maybe it was because of the difference in lighting, but I felt like I was getting flashbanged.

("Ow…") [Solace]

My eyes slowly adjusted as I entered an unknown room.

("Woah… what is this place- wait, am I in a cage?!") [Solace]

I was stuck in what looked like a bird cage. It wasn't even that spacious either so I was quite frightened.

"Let me out!" [Solace]

I punched the cage door.

"...Owww!" [Solace]

My hand now hurts.

"Damn it… I don't have time for this!" [Solace]

I tried calming myself while sitting. It was a simple way of finding a way out.

("Let's focus. First of all, where am I?") [Solace]

Looking around, I found myself in a room lined with bookshelves. Not only that, there were tables covered in glass bottles, things that looked like test tubes, and a bunch of glowly crystals.

("It's like a library, a physics lab, and a chemistry lab all in one.") [Solace]

The flooring was a red carpet with yellow designs similar to an X all around. I was just checking small details like how the ceiling seemed to be extremely tall with even more bookshelves going up against the walls.

("Am I in a tower?") [Solace]

I finished observing the things that stuck out the most.

("Next is the exit.") [Solace]

I located a door to my right, which was a wooden double door with no handles.

("What a strange design… Anyway, what about my closest surroundings?") [Solace]

There wasn't much to look at. I was in a metal bird cage on one of the many desks that plagued the room.

("...Well that doesn't help much.") [Solace]

After pretty much completing my observation, I saw the doors open out of the corner of my eye.

"Hm? A spirit?" [???]

A beautiful woman came through. She wore the most generic witch clothing I have ever seen. It was a massive purple hat that spanned all around with a pointed top. It even had the cliche red ribbon tied up there. Not only there she wore a purple dress that had a leg slit on the side.

("Woah… She's dazzling.") [Solace]

It's funny because even her hair was purple. Nonetheless, it wasn't even just her beauty that had me enamored. It was those huge badonkers. Like, they were badongarongus size. Like, bazongarangongus. For real, they were like… nevermind. I think you guys get it.

"Hi, beautiful. Can you help me out of this cage?" [Solace]

I swear I complimented her just to flatter her so I could get out of this cage. It's not like I did it 'cause I like her or anything like that.

"Hm…" [Woman Dressed In Purple]

She did this little chuckle as if she was amused.

"A little spirit without a summoner in sight. How amusing." [Woman Dressed In Purple]

"Uh… There are reasons for this. Also, can you unlock this cage?" [Solace]

Even though I repeated my request, the woman just smiled and observed me.

"May I ask for your name?" [Woman Dressed In Purple]

"Solace. What about you?" [Solace]

There was no reply.

"Are you even listening to m-" [Solace]

"Where might your summoner be?" [Woman Dressed In Purple]

That was when I realized she wasn't.

("...I hate my life sometimes.") [Solace]
