READY! SET!! GO!!!
The second realisation hit me the race begun... the race between me and reality.
Staggering I move forward, building walls in my wake, blocking out reason and logic.
I hate the bloom and freshness of spring because it reminds me of you.
Of the deadness in your eyes, the pain in those beautiful orbs. The darkness lingering in your soul.
Of the way you die at night and become alive in the day. Of how you seek warmth and receive the ice cold glares of those who do not understand you.
Of how I ran away when you showed me the real you. Of how I chose fear over love. Myself over you.
So I run away...so I can't see your pain. I repeat to myself "she's okay...I didn't hurt her. I can't hurt her...she's not normal".
But I see behind those cold orbs, a child in need of love. A harmless soul in need of warmth.
I'm afraid of the guilt. Of the shame of fear. So I stay away but I can only wish from deep inside of me that you don't forgive me and be happy and free.
As for me I'll continue with this race...
