Zain didn't know how he broke through the dozen guards unscathed as managed to stop the sword from killing his woman. He didn't care either. All he wanted to do at that moment was to keep her alive and safe. He embraced her as he placed her lips towards his neck to let her have his blood.
He screamed in his head for Zamarad. They have connected after all. No matter how much she shut them off, she could feel his pain. Zamarad double over in her sleep as she sweated buckets. She couldn't wake up nor fight the connection.
She was vulnerable but she knew that if she couldn't survive this, then she wasn't strong enough to face the enemy. With this thought in mind, she opened the connection between her and Zain.
