Chapter 6 - Night Terror

Part 1

Lilly, Molly, and Jordan List were enjoying their two-week summer vacation at their family beach house. They had invited their friends Mara, Katherine, and Charlie to join them for fun in the sun. Little did they know that their relaxing getaway would take a thrilling turn.

Late one night, as they gathered around the bonfire on the beach, they heard a strange noise from the nearby woods. The group felt a sense of unease wash over them as three shadowy figures emerged from the darkness. Without warning, the intruders revealed their intentions - they were there to harm Lilly, Molly, and Jordan.

The group of teens, their hearts pounding with fear, darted towards the beach house. A rush of relief washed over them as they burst through the front door. But the calm was shattered when they noticed the bang on the door.

Jordan's voice wavered a little as they whispered urgently, "Quick! Lock the doors and windows, now!" The urgency in their voice was contagious, and everyone sprang into action. Frantically, they moved from room to room, securing each entrance and closing every window. The sound of their hurried footsteps mixed with the distant crashing of waves, creating an eerie symphony.

With each twist of a lock, the fear deepened. The silence outside was deafening, amplifying the group's anxiety. The sound of their own breathing seemed to engulf them, making it harder to think straight.

Hiding became the next priority. Whispering among themselves, they strategized where they could conceal themselves, away from prying eyes. Some crawled underneath beds, while others squeezed into cramped closets, their breathing growing shallow.

From their hiding spots, the teens could see through the slits of the closed doors. The air grew thick with anticipation as they held their breath, straining to hear any movement outside. Time seemed to stretch, each second feeling like an eternity.

Suddenly, a voice pierced the silence. "Is anyone there?" It was a deep, menacing voice that sent shivers down their spines. The group exchanged tense glances, their eyes wide with apprehension. They could tell that this was not someone they wanted to encounter.

As the seconds turned into minutes, the banging on the door increased in intensity. With each thud, the house seemed to tremble, threatening to give way under the stranger's persistence. The teens held onto one another, finding solace in their shared fear.

As the minutes stretched on, a mixture of panic and determination filled their hearts. They knew they had to stay hidden and stay strong. They had to survive this terrifying ordeal together.

Finally, the banging ceased, leaving behind an eerie echo that filled the air. The group dared not move or speak, fearing they would again attract attention. They remained in their hiding places, gripping tightly onto each other, hoping against hope that the danger had passed.

Jordon grasped his phone from the bedside table. He went back to his hiding place, just as you could hear glass shattering downstairs.
