The count freezes . He starts trembling , but keeps himself together for the sake of the princess .
-Who are you and what are you doing in my room ? Explain me at once !
-My lady stand back , this fiend is the infamous reaper himself .

The time slows down , Kiro charges at Calhoun , Calhoun draws his sword as fast as he could and parries the attack . Kiro gives once again a twisted grin :
-I don't believe that a scum like you has obtained divine protection .
-I haven't , The power is granted to me by the amulet I keep around my neck , it's a divine relic that grants divine protection to it's possessor .
-So I get the reward on your head , and an item worth tons of drezas .
Kiro charges once again at the count , but the count dodges . Kiro throws a dagger at him , Calhoun quickly lowers his head , dodging once again . Kiro draws his other dagger and tries to land a stab in the count's chest , but barely misses . The count raises his sword and tries to land an upper strike on Kiro but Kiro deflects the hit with the oath blade , then kicks the count in the stomach . The count gets stunned , but he manages to back away , from Kiro .
-Just give up already and make it quick for yourself .
-Don't you think I'm going to give up my life so easily .
The count charges at Kiro , but Kiro deflects once again , this time he rotates with his dagger , stabbing Calhoun in the neck . The count lies dead on the floor , dripping blood from his throat . The time goes back to normal once again . Kiro looks at the dead body of the count , then he reaches to take his amulet . He puts it in the inner pocket of his coat , then he turns around to see a terrified princess , staring right through his eyes .
-What have you done ?
-I think it's obvious
A knock is heard on the princess's door .
-Help!
Kiro quickly puts his hand on her mouth , but then a man opens the door . Kiro draws his dagger and places it on the princess's throat :
-You treacherous scum , how dare you touch my daughter ?
Then the king looks down to see his advisor ,one of his closest friends , lying dead on the floor .
-Knights , assemble !
The knights come at an instant , along side Lyden and Orien .
-Let me go !
-Then what , surrender myself ? I'm not taking any chances here .
-Couldn't expect any less from you , reaper .
-If it isn't Lyden , how are your students by the way ?
Lyden's heart boils out of rage and vengeance , but he knows , if he let's his anger take over , he loses his divine protection .
-My student's souls may rest in peace , And I'll make sure your crimes will not go unpunished !
-Ohh please , back off before I slit her throat open .
-Then what are you going to do next ?
"I have dragged myself in a big mess, even If I make it out of here unarmed , I'm sure the king will send people to hunt me down , killing her will make the situation even worse ."
Then Kiro sees with the corner of his eye a window .
"I doubt I'll make it out unharmed , but what other choice do I have ?"
Kiro backs down , in the direction of the window .
-Back down as much as you want , there is nowhere for you to go , release the princess and I might give you a quick painless execution . -Says Orien .
Kiro is right in front of the window . He gives a devilish grin once again then says .
-I guess this time I'll take my chances .
Kiro jumps from the window dragging the princess with himself .
"Now that I think about it , this was a bad idea "
Kiro wraps his arms around the princess and turns on his back leaving the princess on top of him .
-Are you insane , we are both going to die !
Kiro and Evelina plunge on the ground . Kiro protected the princess with his bare body . The princess gets up unharmed . She quickly checks Kiro if he's breathing .
-He sacrificed his own life to save mine , why would he do that .
-And that's the part where you are wrong .
-How is it possible that you are still alive ?
Kiro gets up , he was injured , but was able to walk , even run .
-Did you really think I would jump out of the window only to plunge to my death ?
-It's not....
-I saved your life so you owe me one , I don't want the whole royal guard coming me or else I'll come back to finish the job .

The time slows down , Kiro makes a run for it . His whole body hurts from the fall . He quickly flees the castle and heads to the stables where he left his horse . Shortly after he gets to the stables . The time gets back to normal . He mounts the horse and flees the capital , heading to the stables . Time passes . Kiro finally arrives at the stables , Vesper was waiting for him .
-Good to see you reaper . How's the count ?
-Let me see , dripping blood on the floor of the castle with his throat split open .
-I'm pleased to hear he isn't a problem anymore .
Vesper takes out a bag of drezas and says :
-You never fail to disappoint me reaper , here is your reward .
Kiro takes the money and leaves without saying a word , he mounts his horse and heads to the mansion . Time passes , he arrives at the front gates , dismounts his horse and begins to shake the dust of his coat .
"This sure was a hard day "
Kiro enters the mansion and he is greeted immediately by both Luchia and Vallerie .
-Where were you , you mongrel , We have been waiting all day for you ! It has gotten dark already .
Kiro leaves saying :
-I got to take a bath , wash my clothes , and bring me new ones .
