Chapter 21 - Chapter 21.

"Jenny, stay with me," I said. "Andi what's wrong with her!" shouted Becca. "The chandelier fell on her! I don't know yet!" I said, panicking. Normally, I'm able to assess injuries much faster. But with Jenny, I couldn't. One thing for sure, I couldn't let my brother's soon to be girlfriend and my dearest friend die due to my poor judgement. I can think quickly and fix people on a dime. I went to med school for eight years, I've seen some things during my life, but nothing as bad as this.

"Andi, c'mon we have to get out," said Jesse. I could hear the pain in my brother's voice. He effortlessly picked Jenny up and carried her to the door. My mind was a blur, I couldn't think straight. We have never in all of the years knowing my brother ran away from a fight. We always fought till the end. But now for his own sake, we need to retreat. I never would have thought Shane would try to kill Jesse or me for that matter. Granted we never got along; I still would never try to kill one of my siblings.

We finally reached the door. After the total chaos of the night, we finally made it out. Jesse and I rode together, I sat in the back seat with Jenny, trying to keep pressure on the bleeding on her head. "Jesse, I don't know how long she's going to-" I started. "Just keep trying!!" shouted Jesse. I don't think I've ever seen my brother drive so fast. I've never been afraid of Jesse's driving, but while I kept my head focused on Jenny I could hear the constant car horns blaring at Jesse's careless driving.

Jesse whipped into the driveway. He screamed for Conner and Luka to help him get Jenny inside. Lacy parked her car and all of the girls got out and ran to me. "What do we need to get?" said Becca. "I need Claire to get my syringes, Elena get the oxygen tanks, Becca get gauze, and plenty of it. Lacy, get my black bag under my bed. We have to move people!" I shouted. I ran with Conner, Luka, and Jesse inside while I kept holding pressure on her head. The chandelier fell right on her, causing glass to go into her face. I could already guarantee a concussion. The chandelier was easily over one hundred pounds.

The most important thing I needed was the bag I told Lacy to get me. In it, were all of my medical tools: stethoscope, scalpel, tweezers, forceps, clamps, and other sterilized equipment. She ran into the room and handed it to me. I pulled out my stethoscope and placed it on her chest. Shockingly, everything sounded normal. Elena handed me an oxygen tank. "Andi, what do you need," started Jesse. Suddenly, Jenny shot up.

My head was pounding. I could feel blood running down my face. I was in pain everywhere. It felt like there was something stuck in my throat, I couldn't breathe. I grabbed my throat and started coughing uncontrollably. Panicking, I grabbed Jesse's arm. I couldn't hear anything he was saying, all I could hear was the sound of me coughing. I looked down, and saw blood coming out of my mouth every time I coughed. "Je-" I made out. "I can't-". I felt a sting in my arm, I turned to see Andi shoved a needle in my arm. "Jenny, relax you're going to be fine" she said. I started to feel dizzy, I felt myself lay back down. I tried to keep my eyes open, but the weight of my eyelids came crashing down on me.

"There is a shard of glass in her throat," I said, feeling her throat. "Andi how are you going to get it out?" said Jesse, clearly panicking. "Lacy, hand me my scalpel," I said. "You're not going to cut her throat, are you?" shouted Jesse "Andi you can't!". "Get him the hell out of here!" I shouted at Luka. My only option was to make a cut, small enough to get the piece of glass out without damaging her throat. Focused, I angled my scalpel and began to cut. "Elena, hand me my forceps" I said, "We have to move". Blood was gushing from the cut, making it hard for me to see.

"Damn it!" I shouted. The piece of glass was way bigger than I expected it to be. I made a wider incision, allowing me to see it better, and get the glass out. I put the piece of glass on a towel next to me. I quickly applied pressure to her neck to stop the bleeding. Once it stopped bleeding, I put sutures on her neck, closing the incision. "Claire, go get Jesse and Luka" I said. "Good job Andi" said Lacy. Just then, Jesse and Luka came running in. "Is she okay?" said Jesse. "She'll be fine, the glass was bigger than I had originally thought, but she'll be fine. C'mon help me take her to her room" I said. Jesse picked Jenny up like she weighed nothing. He carried her into her room and laid her down. I did one final check to make sure her sutures were tight before I left.

"I think I'm going to stay with her," said Jesse. "She'll be okay Jesse, I'm going to stay with her," said Becca, walking in. "Fine, you come get me if anything happens" said Jesse. I watched as Jesse bent down and kissed Jenny on the forehead before he left the room. "I promise Jesse, she will be fine" I said, grabbing his hand. I walked Jesse out of her room. "Jesse, it's three in the morning, try to get some sleep" I said. "Okay, night Andi" he said, yawning. I walked to my room and laid down. Right as I was about to close my eyes, I hear Becca shout. "Jesse!! Andi!! Come quick!!". I shot out of bed and ran to see what was going on.

~

Disoriented, I looked around. I felt like I was hit by a car, pain everywhere. I looked to the side of me, and I could see Becca. She was slowly dozing off. "Becca?" I whispered. My throat was on fire, I could barely speak. "Oh my God, you're awake!" she shouted. She ran out of the room and shouted for Jesse. Within seconds, everyone was circled around me. "Hey J," said Jesse, quietly. "Are you feeling okay?" said Andi. "Everything hurts" I said. "It's not going to last long, okay J?" said Andi, grabbing my arm. "I would offer you some tequila J, but that would hurt like hell" said Claire, laughing. I tried to laugh back at her, but it hurt too much. "Try to get some sleep J, give it a few days and you should be back to yourself in no time" said Lacy. Everyone started walking out of the room. I gathered my strength and grabbed Jesse's arm, wincing. "What's wrong J?" he asked. "Can you stay with me?" I whispered. "Absolutely," he said, crawling next to me.

I put my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat. He gently rubbed my head, and occasionally kissed me on the head. I could feel myself fall asleep. I prayed Jesse didn't snore, my head was pounding. I slept the entire night, not moving a muscle. I was awoken by the sun shining through the white curtains. Jesse hadn't moved, he was still lying next to me. I tried to get up, clearly waking him up.

"J, what are you doing?" he said, without opening his eyes. "I have to pee," I said. "Hold on," he said. Jesse stood up and walked over to my side of the bed. He put his arm around my back and helped me stand up. We walked to the bathroom, I looked in the mirror and almost screamed. My face was covered in dry blood, cuts, and bruises. "Jesse what the-" I started. "You're fine J, you just had a little accident. You look beautiful, just like always" he said, kissing my cheek.

I smiled and made him leave the bathroom so I could go. When I was done, I used what little strength I had and walked to the door. I opened it, and Jesse came running. "J you should have said something, so I could've helped you" said Jesse. "I'm fine, I promise" I said, smiling at him. "Do you want something to eat?" said Jesse. "Yeah, I can get it," I said. We walked into the kitchen and were met by everyone else. They were crowded by the front door.

"What's going on?" I said, trying to see who was at the door. A gap was formed between everyone, and a familiar face walked through it. "Jenny! How are you? Are you feeling okay? I came as soon as I heard!". The voice echoed through the room, and I saw my father running towards me. "Hi- hi Dad" I said, surprised. He hugged me so hard, I thought I was going to explode.

"Careful Henry!" shouted Andi, angrily. "She's been through a lot". "Oh, I'm so sorry Jenny, I'm just so excited to see you" he said. "And there is someone I would like you to meet!". My father walked me towards the door revealing two women, clearly mother and daughter, and a man getting out of a black car. All looked grossly alike, black hair and green eyes. Clearly the younger man and woman were twins. My father pointed and said, "This is my fiancé, Sandra Santoro".
