Lady with a stern voice spoke to Amira "You are my mother, one of the people I respect the most but-"
" Don't get me started on one of those speeches" Amira interrupted Lady with a dismissive chuckle " Why don't we just get to the good part?" she laughed.
" What? " Lady became shocked beyond belief, it was so astonishing how her mother had changed within a few months, she was now a whole different person, a person Lady failed to recognise.
"Don't act so shocked" Aya said from where she was " You knew this was coming, you just failed to admit it"
Mai chuckled but didn't say a word, she was allowing Lady to deal with things on her own, after all this was her last trial, then she would spill the secret out to her.
"Right" Lady said with an annoyed tone and a deep frown " Just stop this before we all do things we might regret later" she warned.
Amira laughed and looked at the poor girl she was about to devour with her power " You mean this" and right after she said that, the young lady dropped dead to the ground.
Lady clenched her jaws, her anger ticking dangerously like a time bomb, ready to explode.
"Or this" Amira taunted and right after, they all heard the wail of a man and then a man appeared at where they were, his neck twisted in the wrong direction, his limbs more than disfigured.
Lady's eyes widened with anger and all she could feel was the vibrant thumping of her power, that was running through her veins, her heart that was beating with excitement, Lady's power consumed her and then she saw red.
A knowing smile adored Mai's face, and she breathed out sigh of relief as she muttered, "Finally"
Amira and Aya both had confused looks as Lady's eyes turned white, a grin on her face and her aura dangerously suffocating. It was the first time they had seen Lady like that and it was hard for them to understand. They shared confused looks and their eyes automatically went to Mai's face, looking for some sort of clarification.
Mai's smile widened as she became satisfied with their looks of confusion, she couldn't wait to drop the big bomb on them " You must be confused, and that much is pretty obvious" she chuckled and nestled herself on the rock Aya was sitting on earlier.
She sat in a carefree way, not minding in the slightest what was happening to her. Amira and Aya shared looks again and turned to Lady just to see her getting lifted off the ground, her attire changed to a new flowy white dress, her hair floated around her like black ink, longer and ethereal. Her face glowed and her body seemed to change and then suddenly a cold wind blew, chilling everyone to the bone, the lifeless bodies on the ground shrank and the trees and the other things around them became engulfed in something flimsy and white in colour, it was almost like frost but it was harder and more chilly than what frost seemed like.
As Amira and Aya were having a little bit of trouble understanding the situation at hand, Mai was busy laughing out like she had been graced a whole day's audience with the Supreme One so they could have a chat. Aya shot Mai a stern look and approached her.
"Now what's going on?" she demanded.
Mai feigned ignorance and looked around her, squinting her eyes and craning her neck " What do you mean?"
"Stop playing games with me and tell me what's going on here!" Aya demanded yet again but with full force this time that Mai had to give her an answer.
Mai sighed and looked at Lady " If she is what you are talking about then you'd better brace yourself for what you're gonna hear"
Amira who was shivering as she didn't have the potential that the two goddesses had and her level of divinity was low, went to stand by Aya's side " Just spit out already"
"Well enough " Mai sighed again and stood up " she is transitioning into a goddess" she said point blank.
Aya and Amira went silent and then looked at each other for a time before they broke into laughter, as they laughed and threw their heads back like two lazy fools.
"Mai, please, please" Aya began when she had come down from her high of laughter " You can't possibly be telling me that a mere mortal is being made into a goddess when she has no place in the god realms" she shook her head in a silly manner and continued " Besides goddess are created from the onset not made from mortals"
"I totally agree with you Aya" Amira chimed in " And even if mortals could become goddesses, Lady should be the last person to get that kind of privilege, she isn't even experienced"
" Exactly" Aya agreed.
And now it was Mai's turn to laugh " When a mortal can become a demigod" she casted a look at Amira " then, why can't a mortal become a goddess"
"But it's still not plausible enough" Aya dismissed it.
" Well, Lady isn't fully a mortal and on the top of it all, she is a demigod and so becoming a goddess shouldn't be that great of a feat" Amira said with a shrug " Besides who and how gods and goddesses should be is not up to us"
"But still how is it possible?" Amira asked.
Right after Amira finished speaking, Lady spoke with a loud thunderous voice, " Amira, how dare you kill people before my eyes?"
The ground shook at her statement, and both Aya and Amira fell to the ground, even Mai had to kneel before Lady. The wind that was blowing gently now became like a thousand whips, feirce and strong, uprooting big trees to the ground. The ground parted and the waters splashed out, it was a great and mighty earthquake,a chaotic mess that left Aya dumbfounded.
The scene before her eyes was very familiar and it was exactly as it happened at that time but it was too confusing at the moment, first, Lady was a human and then second she was just Mai's vessel so how could it be possible?.
Mai sensing Aya's discomfort shouted " Isn't it familiar Aya?" the smirk in her voice loud and clear.
" Don't tell me" Aya eyes widened " But how is it possible?"
"It is, Lady is her reincarnation, the Supreme goddess, the goddess of love protection, the mother" Mai finally dropped the bombshell.
Aya froze and fell to the ground, lost for words and her breath hitched in her throat as she fell to the ground, those two words that Mai said at the end if her statement ringing in her ears on repeat ' the mother'
Lady raised her left hand and lifted Amira into the air, she spoke to her " You dare destroy what wasn't made by you,you dare take what wasn't yours to take and you dare to get what wasn't meant for you and so I would also take what belongs to you, your life and your pathetic excuse of divinity"
Then she turned to Aya who was still shocked and lifted off the ground with a raise of her right hand " For shirking your responsibilities as a goddess and leaving those you are supposed to protect at the mercy of their enemies, you will also leave you at the mercy of my power and take what you have from you"
Right after her words, another cold wind blew and the powers of Aya and Amira were being sucked out of them followed by their divinity but just as their last shard of life was being taken away,the land shook violently, even more violent than before, the land quaked more than ever and the clouds became darker than the night, a heavy eclipse engulfing the land. But it seemed there were more to come.
Suddenly Mai exclaimed " The Supreme One is here"
And as if on cue, a voice more thunderous than ever, smoother than the waters, booming than ever and shaking the earth to it's very core sounded " Lev, your anger is justified but leave them be for now, I have a task for them"
" So it is true" Aya strained to say with her crumbling life.
Lady let them go after a moment of hesitation and then Amira and Aya dropped to the ground in a fit of coughs, as their lost power and divinity was gradually restored to them.
"To you Aya since you like battling and shedding blood so much, I open a gateway between the underworld,the dark realm and the other realms to prevent the dark beings from leaving their realms at will and causing havoc. Your duty is to fight and if necessary kill any dark being who shall go against this to come out at any time unless at the time that I will appoint" The Supreme One said to Aya.
Aya opened her mouth to protest and refute but she was whipped away before she even had the chance to.
Then to Amira, the Supreme One said " Since you had gone against your own people,blinded by your greed for power, I'll make you a medium, all the gods and goddesses shall come to this realm by possessing you, and everytime you are possessed, you'll lose a bit of yourself and you shall bear immense pain"
Then to Mai and Lady, the Supreme One said " Come with me"
And then they vanished from the village, leaving it in a chaotic mess, the grounds closed up but the evidence of the dangerous meeting of the goddesses was still there as the trees were still in the ground, the waters splashed about, the clouds dark and some few things destroyed here and there.
Amira sat there on the ground as tears rolled on her cheeks, she screamed and collapsed to the ground.
